On Thursday, Stanley Allen announced he is running for East Ridge City Council, according to a press release from Allen’s campaign.
A life-long resident of Hamilton County, Allen has lived in East Ridge for a total of 12 years.
Allen served in the Chattanooga Police Department for 28 years, retiring as a Lieutenant over Support Services. After working in the private sector for three years, he was hired as East Ridge Assistant Police Chief.
Allen was promoted to Chief of Police in 2018, retiring from that position in 2022.
“I worked closely with the Council as Chief and have seen, first hand, the progress and growth of the city,” Allen stated in the press release. “I want to continue the work, concentrating on bringing in new businesses with new construction and rehabbing now empty buildings.
“I also want to continue to develop Camp Jordan to attract sports tournaments and other events,” the press release states. “This will bring in more visitor dollars to improve the services of East Ridge.”
