East Ridge police have arrested a McBrien Road woman after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, early Monday morning.
Shayla Jacoway, 24, of 1109 McBrien Road, is charged with Aggravated Assault. She is being held in the Hamilton County Jail under a $10,000 bond. It is unclear when she may appear in East Ridge Municipal Court.
According to an affidavit of complaint, police were called to the apartment she shares with her boyfriend on a reported stabbing. When officers arrived they were notified that the victim had gone to a nearby apartment, but the suspect was still in the residence.
When police spoke with the victim, it was noted that he had a large laceration on his left hand, a laceration to his chest under his left arm and swelling on his face. The report states that the man told police that he had been arguing with Jacoway over the course of the evening. He said that Jacoway struck him in the face in the upstairs of the unit. He went to the lower level of the home to eat and she followed. According to the victim, Jacoway attempted to throw a pot of boiling water on him in the kitchen.
The report states that Jacoway began cutting the victim with a knife. The victim told police that he fled the house. The report states that a trail of blood began in the kitchen and lead to the rear door.
The report states that Jacoway told police that the couple, who have been living together for four years and have a child together – had argued most of the evening. She stated that there had been a history of violence in the home and that she could no longer “take it.” Jacoway told police that when the couple was in the kitchen she “snapped and cut him.”
According to the report, a large knife was recovered in the lower level bathroom of the apartment.
_ 3626 Fountain Ave.: Police were called to the address on Saturday after Brandon Chrnalogar called for an ambulance. According to an affidavit of complaint, the man’s mother called police stating that Chrnalogar was having a nervous breakdown.
According to the report, when police arrived Chrnalogar had left the area. Police and EMS were leaving when an officer spotted Chrnalogar returning to the residence. When police asked the man for identification, he returned to his car to get his drivers license but would not turn it over to the officer.
The report states that Chrnalogar began yelling at the officer telling him to get off his property and pushed past the officer. The report states that Chrnalogar then turned toward the officer and made a gesture as he attempted to head butt the officer and said that he would kill the officer.
According to the report, Chrnalogar began fighting the officer and attempting to push him off the steps of the house. The officer and Chrnalogar struggled over the officer’s taser, which was discharged during the struggle. The report states that Chrnalogar continued to resist arrest as other officers attempted to subdue the man.
Chrnalogar was finally taken into custody and was charged with Assault on Police.
