Early Friday evening a water main break closed the 700 block of Lenoir Drive.
One resident said that he called Tennessee American Water Company when the six-inch water main burst. He said the utility didn’t send anyone out.
“When a car came through here and almost wrecked, I called the police,” said the resident. “When the police closed the road, the water company finally sent someone out.”
The break has flooded the yards of several homes on the street. The break can clearly be seen in the right-of-way of one yard. A small section of asphalt in the the street has buckled.
It is unclear at this time how many residences have lost water.
