A broken water line on Ringgold Road posed a problem to motorists Wednesday morning.
According to a worker from Tennessee American Water Company, a two-inch water pipe ruptured in the 4200 block of Ringgold Road sometime before 9 a.m. A geyser from the burst pipe was shooting more than 20 feet in the air as a worker using a backhoe dug around the compromised conduit.
The right hand lane in front of The Crossroads church near Marlboro Avenue was closed to traffic as workers dealt with the situation.
Officials with Tennessee American said it would take, perhaps, a couple of hours to repair the break.
