Republican candidate for District Attorney Coty Wamp proudly announced today she has received the endorsement of both major police unions in Hamilton County — the International Brotherhood of Police Officers (IBPO) and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). It is unprecedented for law enforcement to publicly endorse the candidate that is running against the sitting District Attorney.
“The endorsement of both the International Brotherhood of Police Officers and the Fraternal Order of Police, the two largest police unions in our community, is one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Coty Wamp, Republican candidate running for District Attorney General in the 11th Judicial District. “This decision reflects the personal commitment I have made to uphold law and order, restore confidence in our criminal justice system, and ensure the Office of the District Attorney is focused on prosecuting the most violent offenders in our community.”
Wamp continued, “This endorsement also comes with great responsibility. The next eight years will come with challenges. The task will require discernment and determination. I will work around the clock to restore safety and security to every neighborhood in this county. I want to thank the IBPO and FOP for their trust and confidence. I will not let them down.”
Wamp has previously served the community as a public defender, a prosecutor, and is currently General Counsel for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
