Three Chattanooga men are facing drug and weapons charges after police were tipped that the trio were smoking marijuana in their car.
According to the East Ridge Police Department, on Tuesday, Officer Hightower was on routine patrol when he was dispatched to 950 Spring Creek Road where an anonymous caller advised that there were males sitting outside smoking marijuana. He arrived on scene and observed one male walking around yelling at his phone and two additional subjects inside a white Nissan Altima. As he approached, he could smell the overwhelming odor of marijuana emitting from the car.
Upon contact with the vehicle, officers observed a bag of marijuana. They then located a Glock .40 Caliber firearm under the passenger side seat where a suspect had been seated. The firearm was confirmed through NCIC to be stolen out of Chattanooga.
Officer Briselden searched another subject after he stated he had a firearm in his pocket. He was found to be in possession of a FN 9mm. Also, located in his pocket were 45 Percocet tablets inside a pill bottle with the label removed. He was also found with $751 dollars on his person.
Officer Lively conducted a search on the third suspect, who was removed from the rear passenger side of the vehicle and found him in possession of a Glock 21 .45 caliber and 981 Fentanyl pills in his left front pocket.
They were placed in custody for multiple offenses. The investigation was turned over to the Crime Suppression Unit.
According to booking reports from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Reginald Demon Siler, 23, of a Chamberlain Avenue address in Chattanooga, was charged with Possession of a Firearm during a Felony, and Possession of Schedule II drugs for Resale.
Mista Julius McCary , 22, of a Wheeler Avenue address in Chattanooga, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of Schedule IV drugs.
Maurice Lamar Crumsey, 21, of a North Hickory address in Chattanooga, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana for Resale, Reckless Endangerment, Evading Arrest, and Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Felony.
