The East Ridge Industrial Development Board meeting originally scheduled for Nov. 19 at City Hall, then rescheduled for tonight, has been cancelled, officials said Wednesday.
The IDB and public meetings was to have concern a proposed Economic Impact Plan for a professional stadium and mixed-use development area near Interstate-75 that will be submitted to the Hamilton County Commission and to the East Ridge City Council. A public hearing was also to be held relative to the plan.
If such a plan is approved by the County Commission and the City Council, certain incremental tax revenues from the area that is subject of the plan would be made available to the IDB to promote economic development and/or pay eligible project costs and debt service on bonds to pay for the public improvements.
The area that would be subject to the plan is generally an area surrounding and including the proposed stadium and proposed mixed-use commercial retail development located at the northern part of Mack Smith Road at the Exit 1 interchange of I-75, and other properties that will directly benefit from the development including properties on McCall Road, Ringgold Road, Mack Smith Road and North Mack Smith Road.
