East Ridge police are investigating a Saturday evening burglary where thieves not only stole the usual items but made like The Grinch and stole Christmas.
According to a department “pass along report,” a woman called police to check her house at 3622 Altamira Drive because a window was open. When officers arrived they discovered the door to the rear of the house had been kicked open.
The thieves stole televisions, video games and electronics. The report states they also took the presents from under the victim’s Christmas tree. To add insult to injury, the victim’s dog was also missing.
Investigators responded to the address to collect evidence. Thanks to a neighbor’s video camera, police have at least one clue: an unknown black SUV was parked in the driveway during the incident.
