The Red Wolves downed Charlotte Independence, 3-1, in USL League One play Saturday night at CHI Memorial Stadium in its final home game of the season.

The win moved the Red Wolves (11-10-7) ahead of Charlotte (11-11-6) in league standings.

The R’ Wolves’ Moe Espinoza Nicolas Cardona scored first 10 minutes into the match. Charlotte evened the game before the half. Red Wolves defender Timmy Mehl scored on a pair of headers.

The Red Wolves will hit the road for its final two matches of the regular season as they take on North Carolina on Oct. 8, and South Georgia on Oct. 15.
