Red Wolves coach Jimmy Obleda has been indefinitely suspended by the United Soccer League, league officials announced Friday.
The suspension is a result of an investigation into allegations of misconduct by the third-year head coach of the club.
The USL Players Association released a statement saying it will continue to be supportive of the investigation that focuses on allegations of discrimination, harassment, and abuse or bullying.
The Red Wolves Twitter page showed a statement from the club saying that it takes all such allegations seriously and is complying with the investigation, placing Obleda on administrative leave until the investigation is concluded.
Obleda, 50, has led the Red Wolves to 23 wins, 19 losses and 17 draws during his tenure. Red Wolves assistant coach Jimmy Weekly was named interim head coach in Obleda’s absence.
The Red Wolves (6-8-2) will host the Northern Colorado Hailstorm (5-6-5) at CHI Memorial Stadium tonight. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
