The Catholic Rams remain undefeated on the season as they easily dispatched visiting Sale Creek, 24-0, Saturday afternoon at Billy Warren Field on the campus of OLPH.
Stalwart Dallas Brown led the way for Catholic (9-0) with a 48-yard scoring toss to Sean Collyer in the first quarter. Reeve Mullinax got into the act with a 12-yard rushing touchdown.
Michael Howard broke through the Sale Creek defense for a 27-yard score late in the first half.
Catholic topped each of its touchdowns with 2-point conversions. The first two were on Brown runs, while the last was a toss from Brown to Evan Nowell.
Up 24 points in the second half, the Catholic staff used that cushion to give some of its younger players some playing time.
Catholic has two games left on its schedule _ Silverdale on Tuesday and Dayton City on Thursday _ to complete its first undefeated season since 1966.
Coach Billy Dearing was pleased with the outcome of the game and had high praise for his team.
“It was a good effort by you guys,” Coach Dearing said in a post-game meeting in the end zone. “This is a team. Be happy and proud that you are 9-0. That’s a heck of a thing.”
