_ 1441 N. Smith Rd.: Police were called to the Holiday Inn Express at this address on Wednesday afternoon in reference to suspicious activity. A dispatcher told police that an employee had called to report someone in a silver Dodge was emptying trash into the business’s trash can.
According to an affidavit of complaint, when an officer arrived he located the vehicle next to a dumpster in the rear parking lot of the motel. The officer spoke with a man outside the open door of the vehicle identified as Tyler William Domino. The man told police that he was throwing away trash in the dumpster while waiting on a friend who was renting a room. Police spoke with a woman in the front passenger seat identified as Shelby Davis.
A check of the license plate of the vehicle listed the plate as stolen, the report states. The two parties were detained. Officers located the key to the Dodge in Domino’s front pocket, as well as a key to a Toyota. The report states that officers verified that the Dodge was listed as stolen.
Domino, 26, of a Duncan Avenue address in Chattanooga, was booked on charges of Theft over $10,000 and Theft of Property. Davis, 26, of Ringgold, Ga., was charged with Theft of Property under $1,000. They are both due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on Dec. 5.
_ 941 Spring Creek Rd.: On Nov. 5, police were called to Parkridge East in regard to a vehicle theft. According to an affidavit of complaint, when officers arrived they spoke with a woman who told them that her wife was in the emergency room in a coma due to overdosing on drugs earlier in the afternoon. The woman told police that her wife had been in a motel room with Misty Wilkey, who drove a 1997 VW Golf to the hospital for the couple. The report states that the overdose victim’s ex-husband was also at the hospital with their children. The report states that the owners of the VW objected when Wilkey said she was going to leave the hospital via their car.
According to the report, Wilkey told the owner of the vehicle that “ya’ll are just trying to test me.” Wilkey got into the vehicle as the ex-husband of the overdose victim and another woman standing behind the car banged on the rear of the vehicle. The report states that Wilkey began backing up the car and the people had to move. The report states that Wilkey then swerved in an attempt to run over the woman and she jumped out of the way. The car took off on Spring Creek Road headed toward Ringgold Road.
The ex-husband told police that Wilkey had been staying at the 4A’s Inn on Ringgold Road. The report states that police responded to the motel, but a clerk there said that no one had been back to that room since EMS had responded to the overdose call.
Police caught up with Wilkey on Nov. 7 at Parkridge East when someone called to advise that there was a woman there who had outstanding warrants. A police report states that Wilkey was found visiting the room of the woman who had been brought in with the overdose. The report states that when Wilkeyy was searched, officers found a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on her person. She was written misdemeanor citations for this incident.
Wilkey, 36, of an Athens, Tenn. address, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Theft over $1,000. She is due to appear in municipal court on Dec. 19.
