_ 5301 Ringgold Rd.: On Tuesday police were called to the Walgreens on a theft. According to a police report, when an officer arrived he spoke to the store’s manager. The manager said that a man in his late 20s came in at about 5 a.m. asking about a Sharper Image drone. The man was asking questions regarding the drone as if he was going to purchase one. The manager said the man had picked out four of the items when he asked the manager if he had two more in stock in back. According to the report, when the manager went to the back of the store to retrieve additional drones, the man walked out of the store with four drones without paying. The suspect, a white male, got into a white Honda with gray trim on the bottom and left the parking lot.
_ 3100 block of Ringgold Rd.: Last week an officer performed a traffic stop just before 3 p.m.. According to a police report, after making contact with the people inside the vehicle and obtaining all of the occupants’ information, the officer returned to his cruiser to run the information with dispatch. According to the report, while the officer was in the process, he saw Al Davis exit the car from the rear passenger door. He jumped the wall onto Old Ringgold Road and began to run on foot. The report states that the officer pursued Davis up a hill and through several yards before losing the man in a wooded area. It was later learned that Davis had nine outstanding warrants through Hamilton County. According to the report, the vehicle was searched and nothing was found. The other occupants of the vehicle had no warrants and were released from the scene after speaking to police about the incident.
_ 711 Summit Ave.: Police were dispatched to the address at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning on an assault. When police arrived they spoke with the female victim who was bleeding from her mouth. According to an affidavit of complaint, The victim told police that her boyfriend, Dale Ormsby, punched her in the mouth with a closed fist. The victim told police that she and Ormsby had been arguing about whether or not his daughter had been raped, since the daughter is now dating her alleged rapist. The victim told police that Ormsby punched her in the mouth, causing her to bleed and loosening several of her teeth. This occurred after the victim told Ormsby that she did not believe his daughter’s accusations of rape. The report states that the victim told police that after Ormsby punched her he placed his hand on the right side of her face and slammed her face into a wall. The report states the victim had visible swelling to the side of her face.
When police questioned Ormsby, he confirmed arguing but denied punching the victim in the mouth. He said the victim tripped and fell down some steps in the residence, hitting her mouth on a step. The report states that police did not believe Ormsby’s account and noted that both parties were intoxicated. Ormsby,35, of a Solar Avenue address in Chattanooga, was taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a charge of Domestic Assault.
