The following information is from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.
May 29 Day Shift
4330 Ringgold Road:
An unknown male and female entered Metro PCS. The man stole two (2) phones from behind the counter as the woman distracted the employee. The suspects left in an unknown vehicle and in an unknown direction.
6401 Ringgold Road:
A man told police that a friend located his stolen Ford F-150, which was taken yesterday in Chattanooga by a woman who borrowed it but failed to return it. The vehicle was not listed in NCIC because the victim had not yet reported it stolen. The victim, who wants to pursue prosecution, was instructed to file a theft report with the Chattanooga Police Department. There were no suspects with the vehicle at the time that it was discovered.
5517 Ringgold Road:
Sherry Loach was issued a criminal trespass notification for this location. The owner requested for the notification to be issued after she found Ms. Loach sleeping in the bathroom. Ms. Loach left the property.
1602 Truman Avenue:
Police responded to this location after a resident found a sunglass case containing drug paraphernalia. The case contained syringes and a spoon.
601 Walnut Street:
Jennifer Whitaker was arrested at the jail on an East Ridge warrant.
3902 Wiley Avenue:
The resident reported the theft of his dark gray 2012 VW Jetta from his front yard sometime on May 27th. He stated he waited two (2) days to file a report because he was scared. The vehicle is a four (4)-door sedan, dark gray reflective flakes in the paint. The vehicle has dark tinted windows, silver five (5)-star wheels, with an “Auto Simple” drive-out tag.
3427 Land Street:
The resident called to report his bicycle stolen from his front yard. It has a tan body with black rims/tires. No brand name or serial number was available.
Night Shift
3384 Shadowlawn Drive:
The resident advised that a backpack containing a Chromebook, books, a wi-fi puck, mouse, charger, and paperwork was stolen from her unlocked vehicle between May 28th at around 10:57 pm and May 29th around 9:20 am.
3619 Ringgold Road:
Heather Melford was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident after she crashed her Ford Ranger at this location and ran from the scene.
3400 Shadowlawn Drive:
Robert Hardeman, 19, of a South Crest Road address, was arrested for possession of schedule VI controlled substance.
1014 John Ross Road:
Police encountered a man who stated that he needed to go to the hospital due to having medical issues. Police had EMS and East Ridge Fire Department personnel respond to the scene to check on the man and transport him to the hospital. Memorial EMS said the man did not need to go to the hospital. The dispatcher advised that the man had a Hamilton County warrant for DUI dating back to 1999. Upon arriving at the Hamilton County Jail, the HC Jail nurse advised that they would not accept the man due to his medical condition and said that East Ridge needed to transport him to the hospital. The man was released out of East Ridge custody, since the warrant was not out of East Ridge, but was from Hamilton County. The man was advised to go to the hospital.
Bennett Road / John Ross Road:
A caller advised that they saw a man that fit the description of a wanted person out of Rossville, Georgia. They advised that the man was wanted for an incident of theft involving a pistol. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.
707 Haven Hill Drive:
A caller stated that a light in color, four (4)-door sedan with a roof rack was slowly traveling through the neighborhood and stopping in front of people’s homes. Police responded to the area but the vehicle was not located.
