On Monday, East Ridge police arrested a man on drug charges during a warrant round up.
According to an affidavit of complaint, officers went to 409 Dunlap Avenue on a warrant service. Police made contact with David Noel Carter Jr., who was wanted on a probation violation from East Ridge City Court.
In plain view officers saw a bag of marijuana (15 grams) on a stand next to a digital scale. The report states that police also saw a vacuum sealer and vacuum-sealed bags, also in plain view. At this point, police asked for consent to search Carter’s room.
In Carter’s room, the report states, police found six grams of suspected cocaine, two more bags of marijuana (33 grams), a gram of MDMA, 241 Xanax pills, approximately 30 counterfeit Xanax pills, and 92 grams of concentrated hashish.
In addition, police located $5,043 in cash and a loaded Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun in Carter’s bedroom where all the narcotics were found.
Carter was taken to the Hamilton County Jail where he was booked on charges of Possession of Cocaine/Resale, Possession of Hashish/Resale, Possession of Marijuana/Resale, Possession of MDMA/Resale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Firearm while in Commission of a Felony. Carter is being held without bond.
6106 Bermuda Avenue: On Sunday, police responded to this location for a disorder with a weapon. Upon arrival, police observed James Walston attempting to leave in a black sedan. Mr. Walston was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend. Police spoke with the girlfriend who advised that Mr. Walston held her against her will and threatened her with harm and through use of a hammer. Mr. Walston also threatened to use the hammer on another subject. Mr. Walston was taken into custody and charged with driving on a revoked license, aggravated domestic assault, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, and interference with a 911 call.
6514 Ringgold Road: On Sunday night, a store clerk at Mapco, reported a robbery and assault that occurred at the store. Police watched video footage showing an unknown male approach the counter with two (2) beers. The store clerk denied the purchase due to an expired status of the man’s license. The male reached for the beers and in a struggle over the items, the clerk was struck in the face with a beer. The male threw two (2) $5 bills on the counter and exited the store. Another clerk stated that she was in the parking lot beside the suspect’s vehicle with her door open. That clerk said that the male shoved her with her door, so he could get into his maroon truck. She advised the male subject then drove away traveling west on Ringgold Road. The East Ridge Criminal Investigation Division was notified of the incident.
1410 N. Mack Smith Road: On Sunday, a call was received about an unconscious person in the lobby of the Budgetel. Upon arrival of police, a male subject was located and transported to Parkridge East hospital by EMS.
1132 John Ross Road: On Friday, a homeowner at this address spoke with officers about the theft of property from his home on 03/22/19. The victim stated that he came home yesterday to find his back door open. He discovered that a guitar and harmonicas were missing from his home. The victim also discovered that five chainsaws were stolen from his work shed. The victim estimated the value of the items around $6,000.
