_ 1310 Coleman Circle: Police were called to the address Sunday afternoon in regard to a domestic assault. According to a police report, when officers arrived at 3:10 p.m., the spoke with a man standing outside the house who told them that his wife had just “beat him up.” The victim said that he had just woke up and was in the bathroom when his wife, Sara Land, started throwing things at him. The report states that the victim said he walked into the kitchen and Land pushed him down and he fell into the kitchen counters, causing him to cut his face. The report states that the victim had blood on the side of his face. The victim’s son-in-law had come to the address and he was the one who notified police. The son-in-law told police when he got to the house he encountered the injured victim. The report states that the son-in-law told police that while he was there he saw Land “kick the victim twice in the back trying to knock him down.”
Police spoke with Land, who, according to the report had dried blood on her clothing. The woman told police she had no idea how the blood got on her clothing. Land told officers that she hit her husband in the face with an open hand. Land, 66, was arrested, charged with Domestic Assault and held on a $1,500 bond. She is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on March 21.
_ 4214 Ringgold Rd.: Last week police were dispatched to the Suds N Shine laundromat on a delayed theft. According to a police report, the victim of the theft told officers that someone had taken three towels, four pair of pants, five pair of underwear and three pair of socks valued at more than $100. The victim told police that he was in the facility at about 10:30 a.m. when he encountered a man he described as a “midget.” The man, a white male in his early 20s, had in his possession a wagon with a cart attached to it. The victim told police that the “midget” asked him for a Bible. When the victim left and returned with a Bible and some money for the suspect to dry his clothes with, he found the midget had left the premises along with the victim’s laundry.
_ 6907 Glen Errol Way: Police were dispatched to the address Friday morning on a reported vehicle burglary. According to a police report, officers spoke with the residents who said that sometime during the night somebody entered their unlocked 2009 Chevy Impala and removed some items. The female resident told police that she got in the car at about 8 a.m. and noticed some items inside the car had been moved around. The report states that upon further investigation, the woman discovered that three pair of sunglasses and a green, tri-fold wallet belonging to her husband were missing. The woman told police that she did not know who may be responsible for the theft but had “observed some suspicious activity in the neighborhood during the past week.”
