_ 5355 Haisten Ct.: Police were dispatched to the address, Saturday, on a fight. According to an affidavit of complaint, when officers arrived they encountered a man seated in a chair in the street and bleeding from his lower right leg. The man told officers that his friend, Jacob Stevens, had assaulted him, kicking him multiple times in the leg where he was bleeding. The victim told police that he had been living at the address with Stevens for two weeks. Stevens had accused the victim of stealing money from him, an accusation the victim denied.
The report states that the victim told police that Stevens pushed him out the doorway and began to kick and choke him. The victim said that he had been hit in the head and that Stevens had grabbed him by the throat and choked him. The report states that the victim had trouble breathing.
Police spoke with Stevens, who according to the report, “appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.” The report said Stevens eyes were glassy, he was speaking slowly and was sweating. Stevens told police that he had been taking his methadone, which he said was prescribed to him. The report states that Stevens told police that he had confronted the victim about the stolen money, then told him to leave. The victim refused and Stevens pushed him out the door. Stevens denied kicking the victim.
The victim was treated by EMS on the scene then taken to Parkridge East Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Stevens, 26, was charged with Aggravated Assault. He is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court on July 5.
_ 2281 Camp Jordan Parkway: Police were dispatched ton assault last week at the Motel 6. According to an affidavit of complaint, the complainant told officers that her husband, Rikkie Briyan Swanson, had assaulted her after asking him to leave her motel room. The report states that the victim told officers that Swanson grabbed her right arm and left marks. Police observed bruise marks on the inside of her arm, which is consistent with the victim’s statement.
The victim also told officers that Swanson backhanded her on the right side of her face. She told police that he pushed her backward against the bed then struck her with his knee in the lower abdomen. The victim told police that she had recently had surgery on her abdomen. The report states that the victim was crying and shaking when she recounted the incident. The victim told police that her husband has a history of domestic assault against her.
The victim was taken to the hospital by EMS per her request.
Swanson, 29, of a Lafayette, Ga. address, admitted to police that he and his wife had a verbal altercation but denied assaulting her.
Swanson was charged with Domestic Assault and Interference with Emergency Calls. He is due to appear in Municipal Court on June 21.
