_ 6514 Ringgold Rd.: As a result of reported narcotics trafficking, police were conducting a surveillance of the Mapco at this address on Thursday. According to an affidavit of complaint, police saw a red Dodge neon with a white male standing outside of the vehicle for several minutes engaged in a conversation with the driver. An officer made contact with the men and told them of the complaint about narcotics trafficking. The man outside the car kept concealing his hands in his pockets after an officer had requested that he keep his hands visible. The report states that the man then made a move with his hands into his waistband of his pants. While the officer was waiting for backup to arrive, the man began reaching inside his pant leg and he then threw a clear baggie under the vehicle, as police attempted to grab his arm. The report states the man continued to use force against officers by pulling his arms away from police. The man was taken into custody and identified as Tyler Anthony Coker, 33, of an Ooltewah/Georgetown Road address. The baggie that Coker threw under the vehicle was found to contain Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills. The report states that Coker told police that there was marijuana in the console of his vehicle. However, only additional Oxycodone pills were found in the console. Coker was placed under arrest and taken to the Hamilton County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Resisting Arrest and Tampering or Fabricating Evidence.
_ 3200 block Ardian Rd.: Police were called to a home on the street early Wednesday morning in regard to an overdose. Upon arrival police made contact with Hunter Bailey. According to an affidavit of complaint, Bailey said that he was not overdosing but was experiencing chest pains. As Bailey was being examined by EMS and Fire, officers checked for warrants against the man. It was discovered that Bailey had active warrants out of Hamilton County. According to the report, police checked on a vehicle that was on the scene. That car, a black Mitsubishi Endeavor was reported stolen out of Alabama. Bailey, the report states, decided he didn’t need any medical attention and signed a medical refusal form. He was promptly taken into custody. When police searched Bailey the key to the Mitsubishi was found in his pocket. The report states that Bailey was a suspect in a recent auto theft in East Ridge where the owner declined to prosecute. Bailey, 27, of Trenton, Georgia, was taken to the Hamilton County Jail on auto theft warrants out of Hamilton County, and additionally charged with Theft over $2,500 by East Ridge police. The Mitsubishi was towed from the property and will be returned to the owner.
_ 1503 McDonald Rd.: On Monday, police offices with the department’s Crime Suppression Unit saw a white male on the parking lot of the Waverly Motel. Officers went up and made spoke with the man who told them that he was Michael Ferney. According to an affidavit of complaint, while officers were speaking with Ferney he placed a bag inside a silver Pontiac. Officers noticed in plain view a marijuana pipe on the console of the vehicle. Ferney told police that the pipe was his. According to the report, officers began a search of the vehicle based on the presence of the pipe. While officers were conducting the search, Ferney took off and ran into room 116 of the motel and attempted to lock himself in the bathroom. Officers caught Ferney before he could lock the door. Once inside the bathroom police found a bag containing almost two grams of methamphetamine in the toilet. The report states that Ferney admitted to trying to flush the drugs down the drain. Police also found a syringe on Ferney’s person and a digital scale inside his vehicle. Ferney was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on charges of Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Evading Arrest.
