The following information was compiled from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.
August 29– Day Shift
1479 North Mack Smith Road (Peggy’s Nail Spa):
Unconscious Person- The caller advised of a male laying on the sidewalk motionless. Upon arrival the male was awoken and advised to move along.
6117 Bermuda Terrace:
Suspicious People- The elderly caller advised she could hear voices in her back yard. While en route the caller called back and advised she was hearing people in her yard with a chain saw. Upon arrival police encountered three men who advised they were building a deck for the homeowner. Upon verifying this with the homeowner one of the men, Gary Jarnigan, fled the area. It was found he has several warrants through various agencies. He was not located.
941 Spring Creek Road (Parkridge East):
Escapee- The caller advised a patient left the emergency room while still having an IV installed. Upon arrival he was not located.
4317 Esterbrook Drive:
Found Property- The caller advised he found property belonging to Tracy Reed at Camp Jordan. The property was entered in safe storage at the police station.
4222 Ringgold Road (Speedway):
Unruly Children- The caller advised of three high school children loitering at the business. He advised they were told several times to leave but refused. Upon arrival the children left the property.
941 Spring Creek Road (Parkridge East):
Disorder- The caller advised of a white male and female arguing in the parking lot. Upon arrival officers spoke to the female. She advised the disorder was verbal, but she would stay away from the male.
17 Crescent Park:
Shots Fired- The caller advised of several rapid-fire shots in the area across the street on Tunnel Boulevard. Officers checked the area of Ridgeside and located nothing.

August 29 – Night Shift
3409 Land Street/Aggressive Dogs:
Two dogs running free on Land Street trapped a man and his dog while walking. Dogs got off the chain again. Referred to Animal Services.
3900 Ringgold Road/Consensual Contact:
James Dean Picklesimer was seen in the parking lot of Dollar General Store trying on clothing. He was checked for warrants. Two out of state warrants with no extradition were found.
3713 Ringgold Road, Subway/Hold-up Alarm:
False alarm. Doors were locked. An employee waiting on a ride said all is ok.
4222 Ringgold Road (Speedway)/ Theft:
At 17:53 a juvenile male entered the store, disposed fountain soda into a cup and departed the store without paying at 17:54. Police searched the immediate area for the juvenile based on the direction of travel from the store manager but was unable to locate the suspect. Police reviewed security camera video to obtain a better description. No further suspect information available at this time.
5610 Clemmons Road/ Miscellaneous:
Medical- Police responded to an intoxicated male lying in a ditch with his bicycle at Clemmons and Prigmore. Officers located the individual at 5610 Clemmons. It was determined that the man suffered from Parkinsons and was not intoxicated. The man seemed disoriented since he could not recall his address or telephone number. He sustained minor injuries after wrecking his bicycle but did hit his head. Police called EMS to transport to Parkridge East for a further examination.

August 30 – Day Shift
6500 Ringgold Road:
Police responded to a crash with injuries at this location. Both drivers were transported to Erlanger Hospital.
711 S. Moore Road:
Stephens County Sheriff’s Office (Minnesota) requested police to respond to this address in an attempt to locate $35,000 which had been stolen from a bank account in their jurisdiction. Police made contact with the ninety year old resident who had received three separate checks totaling $35,000. Police recovered a check in the amount of $25,500, $8,000 has already been deposited into her bank account, and the remaining $1,500 has already been cashed and forwarded to an unknown suspect.

August 30 – Night Shift
611 S. Lovell St. (Intoxicated person):
Police were dispatched to this location regarding a male party calling 911 who seemed to be intoxicated and stating that his was worried about his neighbor. Police arrived to find the door to 609 was open. Police made entry on a well being check and found no one in the apartment. There was no A/C on in the unit and the floor was covered with roaches. Police secured the apartment and advised him to try and get ahold of their landlord.
W Bound Tunnel (Tractor TRL Stuck):
Police were dispatched to the tunnels regarding a Tractor Trailer stuck inside. Police had dispatch contact Broome’s to remove the Tractor Trailer. Driver was cited.
W. Bound Tunnel (Tractor TRL Stuck):
Police were again dispatched to the west bound tunnels due to a tractor trailer being stuck. The driver was able to back out with assistance. Driver was cited.
Donaldson Rd./Cathy Ln. (noise complaint):
Police were dispatch to this location multiple times regarding noise complaints and or illegally parked cars. Police spoke with homeowners and advised they had to shut down the party due to multiple complaints.
3262 Blackhawk Trail (burglary in Progress):
Police were dispatched to a burglary in progress. Upon police arrival, contact was made with the resident who advised that someone was in her basement and that no one was supposed to be down there. Police made entry into the basement area and contacted a male passed out. Police woke up the suspect, Carlos Calderon, at which time he began resisting and trying to pull away from officers while they were trying to detain him. Mr. Calderon stated that he thought he was on Lookout Mountain Georgia at a friend’s house. Mr. Calderon stated that he didn’t realize he was in East Ridge, TN. The resident advised that she did not know the suspect. Mr. Calderon was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication, Aggravated Criminal Trespass, Resisting Stop Halt Frisk.
4150 Ringgold Rd (Disorder):
Police responded to a fight complaint at the Walmart Neighborhood Market. On scene, police determined the incident was a verbal disorder and no physical contact was made between the two individuals.
5422 Weaver Street (Burglary):
The complainant reported that two bicycles and a bicycle tire were stolen from his grandfather’s storage building behind their homes. The incident may be connected to a suspicious person call at the same address on August 5, 2019. During the original call, a white male was seen running from the property after leaving his bicycle and a backpack on the property. The white male came later back and retrieved his bicycle. The backpack in the original incident was recovered by the East Ridge Police and placed in the Property and Evidence Room.
601 Walnut St (Warrant Service):
Selma Barrett was arrested on a Capias for Arrest of Probationer with an original charge of Theft Under $1000.
759 Blue Bird Circle (Warrant):
Kay Abernathy was arrested for a Hamilton County warrant after we were dispatched to a female sleeping in a van at this location. Field interview on file.

August 31 – Day Shift
6519 Ringgold Road:
(Medical emergency) police responded along with fire and EMS regarding a possible overdose at the Super 8. A male subject was found to be having a diabetic emergency. He was transported to Parkridge East.
Camp Jordan Park:
(Grass fire) Chattanooga Fire requested that East Ridge check the area near the walking bridge after receiving a report of a brush fire at a homeless camp. The fire was confirmed to be inside of Chattanooga.
941 Spring Creek Road:
(Stabbing) police responded to the hospital on a delayed stabbing. The victim was uncooperative but did say the assault occurred in East Lake. He refused to provide any additional information. He had a laceration to a finger and a small puncture wound in his leg. CPD was notified.
4222 Ringgold Road:
(Theft) an unknown white female stole several unknown items from the Speedway and left in a navy blue minivan.
4150 Ringgold Road:
(Disorder) police responded to a disorder at the Neighborhood Walmart Market after a couple created a disorder with a store employee. Per the manager Angelica and Justin Storey were both issued criminal trespass warnings for the property.

August 31 – Night Shift
San Hsi @ Wellworth (DUI):
Jessica Scott Norwood was arrested for DUI, Implied consent and driving left of center following a traffic stop at this location.
6200 Ringgold Rd. (Wellbeing Check):
Police were dispatched to the Taco Bell parking lot regarding a female party who was yelling and threatening that someone was trying to kill her. Upon arrival, police contacted Ms. Tracy Dawn Vandergriff (Reed). Ms. Vandergriff was displaying signs of being under the influence and stating to police many different reasons she was out at the Taco Bell. Ms. Vandergriff did admit to “doing meth”. Ms. Vandergriff was placed into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
Mack Smith Rd. (suspicious parties):
Police were dispatched to the area of Mack Smith Road regarding two male parties on bicycles going behind business’ and not coming back out. Police searched the area and checked around the business’ in the area, nothing located.
4150 Ringgold Rd (Warrant Service):
Charles Caster was arrested on an active East Ridge Capias for Probationer at the Walmart Neighborhood Market. Caster was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

September 01 – Day Shift
6700 block Ringgold Road (disorder):
Police responded to the area after a resident reported hearing suspected homeless people in a loud verbal disorder around the wooded area close to Trantham’s garage. Police searched the area but could not locate anyone.

September 01 – Night Shift
6504 Ringgold Rd (Injury Crash):
A blue Toyota Corolla backed into a brick corner post, then continued over the parking lot curb. The vehicle came to rest on a rock and dirt embankment next to the Baskin Robbins. A pregnant female passenger was taken to Parkridge East for a possible injury. No drugs or alcohol were found at the scene.
6728 Ringgold Road (Abandoned Vehicle):
An unoccupied black Honda Civic was located on the gravel road near the north camping area. The vehicle was checked and found not to be reported stolen. The Camping World management was notified and a private property tow will be required to move it.
South Howell:
SIA/Arrest- David Waters was arrested for evading arrest, possession of methamphetamine and criminal impersonation after police observed him in a yard walking on South Howell. Police made a consensual contact with him; he then gave police a wrong name and then took off on foot when we determined the name, he gave us was wrong. He was taken into custody at South Terrace and South Lovell.
4150 Ringgold Road/Drug Overdose:
Courtney Cochran and Anne Dailey were transported by EMS to Parkridge East. Ms. Cochran was found unconscious in the driver seat of a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. Ms. Dailey was found sitting on a bench extremely intoxicated. Police located several syringes and 1.6 grams of suspected fentanyl in the vehicle. A male party was observed leaving the area and taking multiple items out of the vehicle while the female was unconscious in the driver seat. The male was a white male wearing khaki shorts, blue and white shirt and black hat carrying a red back pack. Charges are pending further investigation.
4214 Ringgold Road/Arrest Warrant:
Devin Langston was arrested on an East Ridge Warrant after Chattanooga Police transported Mr. Langston to the Jail.
1417 Saint Thomas (Public Intoxication):
While on patrol police, observed a black male walking around only in his underwear and waving his arms all around. Police contacted Roderick Sims who advised that he was only trying to direct traffic. When ask why he was only in his underwear he was surprised and didn’t realize it. Police escorted Mr. Sims to his room at the Motel 6, when entry was made a strong odor of marijuana was present. Mr. Sims Admitted to having marijuana in the room and gave consent to search. Upon search police located 3 used syringes, a small baggie of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Sims was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

September 02 – Day Shift
6514 Ringgold Road (Mapco):
Stolen Vehicle Recovery- While on patrol officers noticed a yellow motorcycle sitting near the exit of the Mapco. The motorcycle had been stripped of several parts and appeared to have been recently painted. A check of the VIN through dispatch confirmed the motorcycle was stolen. The vehicle was stolen from LA Porta County Indiana (NIC V807312352) but the registered owner lives in Birchwood, Tennessee. Due to damage to the motorcycle it was towed by Broomes and removed from NCIC.
A short time later dispatch called to advise they made a mistake in verifying the VIN and the motorcycle had not been reported stolen. The owner was assisted it retrieving his motorcycle.
3609 Maiden Drive:
Back Fire- Police responded with fire regarding an electric transformer on fire. Upon arrival fire handled the call.
1417 Saint Thomas Street (Motel 6):
Theft- The caller advised she watched a white male, later identified as Michael Garrick, take the housekeeper’s purse from her cart. He was accompanied by an Ashley Pedigo. The two left the area in a blue Ford Taurus.
3628 Fountain Avenue:
Scam- The caller advised she had reported a Publishers Clearing House scam yesterday. Today the unknown male called back and threatened her.
183 I-24 West:
Vehicle Burglary- The caller advised his vehicle was ransacked and the battery was taken. Police checked the area where the caller was to be waiting for police, but he was not located.
4406 Louise Avenue:
Warrant Service- An anonymous caller advised Katelyn Lamothe was living at this address and was wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Lamothe was located at this address and transported to 601.
September 02 – Night Shift
800 Harris Lane / Suspicious Person:
Police were dispatched to 909 Harris Lane regarding two parties being in the RPs yard. While in enroute police encountered the two parties in the 800 block of Harris Lane. The two parties were identified as Tyler Obrien and Kaitlyn Ladd. Obrien had an active warrant through East Ridge for theft. Tyler was also in possession of a Xanax bar. Ladd told police that she was a Heroin user and used Heroin approximately 6 hours prior. Ladd was having issues staying awake while speaking with officers. Ladd was taken into custody for public intoxication. Both parties were transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
3907A Wiley Ave. / Aggravated Burglary:
Police responded to this location in reference to an assault. Upon arrival it was discovered Thomas Dobbs forced his way into the home and assaulted a male. According to Dobbs the incident stemmed from a narcotics deal which went bad. Police did not observe anything which would indicate narcotics were involved. Dobbs was charged with aggravated burglary as well as assault.
3600 Ringgold Road/Traffic Stop of Bicyclist:
Jason L. Jenkins was stopped for no head light. A records check located warrants for Jenkins out of Hamilton County and Georgia. During a search of Jenkins, a substance believed to be meth was found in his pocket.
