The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports” provided by the administration.
Sept. 29 Day Shift
Ringgold Road @ Maxwell Road- Pedestrian Struck-
A man was struck by a vehicle and knocked out of his wheelchair. He was transported to Parkridge East.
3600 Block of Ida Belle Lane-
The caller advised of a female standing in the roadway attempting to stop cars. On arrival officers encountered Wensdy Griffin. She was advised to get out of the road and go home.
639 Camp Jordan Parkway (Chick Fil A)- Suspicious Vehicle/Person-
The caller advised a gold Chevy with three flat tires was parked on the lot and occupied by a male. On arrival police encountered the motorist. He advised he was waiting for a tow truck.
6401 Ringgold Road (McDonalds)- Unknown 911-
Police were dispatched on a phase two 911 call at the business. Upon arrival no one in need of assistance was located.
6900 block of Wake Robin Drive- Improperly Parked Vehicles-
The caller advised of several construction vehicles blocking the roadway. On arrival police spoke with the construction workers and had them move their vehicles.
3657 Ringgold Road (Cascade Motel)- Citizen Assist-
A woman called and requested transport to a homeless shelter. She was taken to the Community Kitchen.
1118 Greenslake Road- Deceptive Practice-
The reporting party, Samuel R., stated he was the victim of a phone scam. Samuel stated on September 25, 2020, at 1305, he received a phone call from an unknown male who claimed that his social security number had been compromised in Texas. Samuel stated that the male caller spoke with a thick foreign accent but claimed to be Agent Frank Williams with the US Internal Revenue Service. According to Samuel, the unknown caller told him that his social security number had been associated with several criminal activities in Texas and there was a federal warrant for his arrest. The unknown caller then stated that the issue could be resolved if he paid a fee over the phone. Samuel stated that the caller then instructed him to get a Target or Google Play gift card with a value of $450. There is no suspect information.
1309 Fredrick Drive- Identity Theft-
Police spoke with a man over the phone regarding identity theft. He advised he received a phone call from Regions Bank advising him that there were three separate charges on his account that occurred in Miami, Fl. The man advised that he believes his banking information was stolen sometime last week after using the card at several locations. There is no suspect information.
Warrant Service-
Michael S. Vanderweide was arrested at the East Ridge Police Department on an active arrest warrant for Theft of Property – Conduct Involving Merchandise, reference ER 142568. Vanderweide was transported to the Hamilton County Jail at 601 Walnut St.

4222 Ringgold Road/Warrant service:
Antonio Blocker was arrested on several Hamilton County warrants at this location during a traffic stop.
4300 Bennett Road/Evading:
A silver Ford Fusion GA RCH9855, failed to maintain to lane on Bennett Road. Police attempted to stop the vehicle under suspicion of DUI. The vehicle continued north on McBrien and the east on Spriggs maintaining speed of 25-30 mph. Police disengaged all emergency equipment allowing the vehicle to safely evade police last seen heading north on Prigmore Road.
4222 Ringgold Road/Drug arrest:
Erica Owen and John Hemstreet were arrested for possession of schedule II for resale at this location during an encounter.
4100 Ringgold Road / Evading:
Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black motorcycle with no tag for a speeding violation. The unidentified driver of the motorcycle turned around and gestured at police with his middle finger before fleeing at a high rate of speed westbound on Ringgold Road while doing a wheelie. Officers terminated emergency lights and sirens and allowed the motorcycle to safely evade police.
708 S. Sweetbriar Ave. / Public Intox:
Timothy Shved was arrested for public intoxication, after residents in the area witnessed him digging through trash cans in the area and officers believed him to be intoxicated.
