Day Shift November 6
24-014417 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Wire Fraud – The caller stated she received a voicemail from “Sergeant David Miller” of the Sheriff’s Office stating she had not appeared for Jury Duty and warrants were taken for her arrest. She stated she called 423-281-8521 (which is no longer in service) and was told to stay on the phone or she would be arrested. She was told to withdraw $6,500 and go to a business in East Ridge and deposit the money in a “Coinme” machine. The party was then told there were two more warrants and she would need to make additional payments at which time at which time she terminated the conversation.
24-014120 – 3500 BLK Cathy Lane – Suspicious Activity – A homeowner doing yard work unearthed a suspicious box with a bag inside. After removing an additional wood plank, a plaque with the name “Lady” was discovered. The bagged item is likely the previous homeowner’s deceased animal.
24-014130- 6400 BLK Ringgold Road- Unconscious Person – Police responded a second time for a man having difficulty breathing. He was conscious and displaying symptoms of opioid overdose. Based on this, the party was administered 4mg of Narcan. HCEMS personnel evaluated him but refused transportation and further evaluation.
Night Shift November 6
24-014150 – 1500 BLK McBrien Road – Unconscious Party – While working a crash investigation, two police officers were approached by a young mother with her unconscious 2-year-old child. The police officers determined the child was choking and worked to clear his airway. Due to the actions of the police officers, the child resumed normal breathing and regained consciousness. EMS responded to the location and transported the juvenile to the hospital for further evaluation.
24-014149 – 500 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Disorder / Criminal Trespass – Police responded to a fight at a restaurant. On scene, police located two intoxicated individuals involved in an argument and identified them. Officers found the individuals had been asked to leave but one threw a beer at the restaurant manager. Management declined to prosecute and requested the individuals be trespassed from the property.
24-014156 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Intoxicated Person / Arrest – Police located a male stumbling in the middle of Ringgold Road with his pants partially down. The subject was identified and taken into custody. He was charged with Public Intoxication and Public Indecency.
24-014014 – 3700 BLK Edwards Terrace – Civil Matter – A complainant reported a loss of over $20,000 by making bad investments through an e-commerce broker. Police advised the individual it was a civil issue, and she needed to consult legal counsel.
24-014137 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Wire Fraud – Police were dispatched to the store for a suspicious activity. Officers quickly determined the incident was fraud. The victim was notified by a “lawyer” that his son was involved in an accident and needed money to cover bonds and legal fees. The lawyer instructed him to send money through the Coinbase machine at business. Approximately $20,100 was sent before the police could intervene. During the investigation, officers contacted “the lawyer” but he hung up when police attempted to verify the arrest location.
