The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports.
November 21, 2019– Day Shift
3902 Fountain Avenue- AOA/Arrest-
Police responded to assist Tennessee Department of Corrections with locating Ryan Ladd. Upon arrival officers contacted TDOC officers who advised they received an email from the homeowner stating Ladd had been residing here for the last month and had failed to contact DOC about his new living arrangements.
Officers eventually contacted Ladd. He was asked to take a seat on the front porch of the residence so that TDOC officers could interview him. However, instead of complying, Ladd refused orders from officers and pulled away in an uncooperative manner. After a brief physical struggle to regain control of Ladd, he was detained and taken into custody for resisting stop, halt, frisk. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail for processing.
While on scene officers spoke to Daniel L.. He advised Ladd had stolen several items of jewelry from him over the last two weeks while he was staying there. According to the victim, the suspect told him he had stolen the jewelry and had pawned it at a pawn shop near the Aldi’s on Lee Highway. The victim said two rings were taken, one being a man’s ring that had been made using a large diamond from a deceased relative. Also taken was a watch and a diamond bracelet; all items taken are roughly worth about $6,000.
Scruggs Road @ Ringgold Road- Property Damage-
The complainant called to report she struck a pothole with her vehicle and damaged the underside. She was advised by the street department to file a property damage report.
6401 Ringgold Road (McDonalds)- Assault-
On this date ERPD received a call from McDonald’s about an assault in their lobby. According to a manager and another crew member, they observed a white female enter the business, carrying a bunch of bags and running to the bathroom. A few moments later a black male came in behind her and stopped when he reached the bathroom. He yelled for someone to call police and that the woman had stolen his property. The woman came out of the bathroom and begged the employees to not call police. The man then grabbed the woman and dragged her to the car waiting outside. Once inside the car he smacked or punched the woman in the head. According to the employees, the woman was yelling for help as the couple drove off. The manager called police and gave them a description of the car and said the tag was R1E4934 Ga. The car was described as a silver Nissan Altima, but the tag was not on file.
Biscayne Blvd (Catoosa)- AOA/Disorder with a Weapon-
Officers assisted Catoosa County with a disorder in their jurisdiction. It was reported the victim stated she was attempting to retrieve a stolen laptop from Wilmer Sherrard “Hump’’ on Biscayne Blvd in Catoosa. She went on to state Sherrard had brandished a firearm while she was speaking with him. Because she left the scene and relocated to Duncan Park Baptist Church, East Ridge Police were dispatched. Catoosa was advised of the incident and requested ERPD assist in locating Sherrard. He was in a trailer on Biscayne and taken into custody on Walker County warrants. Additional charges in Catoosa are pending for firearms violations.
3400 Frawley Street- Vehicle Burglary-
Upon arrival police spoke with the victim. She advised sometime between 2200 hrs on 11/20/2019 and 0715 hrs on 11/21/2019, an unknown suspect smashed the rear cargo door window of her 2009 red Jeep Patriot and removed a subwoofer. While patrolling the area, police located the item near the intersection of Frawley Street and Germantown Road. There are currently no suspects but there may be surveillance footage from surrounding businesses.
4911 Maryland Drive- Shots Fired-
The caller advised she had been hearing several gunshots over approximately twenty minutes. Upon police arrival in the area the noise was tracked to the adjacent street where roofers were installing a new roof and hammering loudly.
November 21 – Night Shift
5716 Ringgold Road/DUI:
Jessica Brown was arrested for DUI and open container following a traffic stop.
1000 John Ross Road / Drug Arrest:
Police responded to 1000 John Ross road in search of a white male that assaulted a white female. When officers locate the couple, they discovered the assault did not take place. The WF fell and the WM was helping her to her feet. Do to the couples actions and demeanor, police ran their identity through the computer. The couple then began voluntarily confessing to the officers that they were in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Police issued misdemeanor citations to Kevin Brummitt for paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, and citation to Ashley Buckner for paraphernalia and possession of meth.
5408 Marion Ave / Warrant Service:
Police served a warrant for probation violation on Franklin Lambert. The warrant was out of Catoosa County and they were willing to extradite. Mr. Lambert was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
1453 N Mack Smith Rd / suspicious person:
Police were called to this location in reference to people seeing a black male wearing dark clothing, looking into people’s cars in the parking-lot of the Fairfield Inn. Police searched the area but was unable locate the party described.

November 22 – Day Shift
4159 Ringgold Road (disorder):
Police responded to a domestic disorder in the parking lot at this location. The involved parties were gone prior to police arrival.
1116 McBrien Road (welfare):
East Ridge Police and Fire were dispatched to this residence regarding a child locked in a vehicle. Upon arrival the fire department gained entry into the car and unlocked it.
3657 Ringgold Road (fraud):
A woman reported that she received a call from the Social Security Administration saying that her Social Security number had been linked to criminal activity. She believes that the phone call was a scam.

November 23 – Day Shift
3519 Cathy Lane (disorder):
Police responded to a disorder at this location after Timothy E., who lives on Daryl Lane, found his deceased cat’s headstone in the yard at this residence. Both parties agreed to stay away from each other.

November 23 – Night Shift
1313 John Ross Ave. (animal call):
Police were dispatched to this location regarding a dog that was running loose and barking at the neighbors. Police arrived on scene and was able to put the dog back in its fence. Police spoke with owner of dog; the owner is going to build a better fence to keep the dog inside.
1505 Mack Smith Rd. (traffic stop/arrest):
Tabitha Butler, was issued a misdemeanor citation for, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession, following a traffic stop at this location
5700 Roper St (New Castle Apartments Theft from a Vehicle):
Unsecured vehicle entered; backpack stolen.
Interstate 75 South inside of Catoosa County (DUI):
A male party was cited for move over law by ERPD and then arrested for DUI by Catoosa County following a traffic stop at this location.

November 24 – Day Shift
302 Dunlap Avenue Apt. 5 (DOA):
A woman was found deceased in her apartment following a well-being check requested by a family member. She was transported to the ME’s office.
4320 Bennet Road (alarm):
Police checked on an alarm at the high school and found multiple doors left open. The building was checked and re-secured by maintenance.
6404 Ringgold Road (suspicious activity):
A citizen called police after stating she observed a white male pull a gun from his pants. Police made contact with the party and found that it was his torch lighter.
3725 Fountain Avenue Apartment 22 (auto burglary):
Complainant had his vehicle broken into this morning. A review of security footage revealed the suspect to be a juvenile female who lives in the same complex. She was arrested and transported to JDU.
4214 Ringgold Road (warrant service):
Several East Ridge warrants were served on Butch Shirley while in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.
4200 Ringgold Road (found property):
An East Ridge Street Department employee located a debit card in the roadway while on a street sweeper. The debit card was placed into property and evidence.
5080 S Terrace (theft):
Complainant reported that someone stole the catalytic converter off her 2003 Honda CRV on 11/21/19. The woman stated that the vehicle was parked in the back parking lot from 1100-1800 hours.
1410 Mack Smith Road Room 3212 (domestic assault):
Courtney Foster was arrested for domestic assault after Budgetel security witnessed her choking her girlfriend.

November 24 – Night Shift
3508 Crabtree Dr (arrest):
Dustin Long arrested for drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing after found hiding in the attic at this address. He also had two ERPD warrants and Walker County warrants.
4104 Ringgold Rd (FI/Criminal Trespass):
Kimberly Ables and Joseph Hollifield have been trespassed from the Salvation Army Store after being observed loading an item into their vehicle that was on the curb to be donated.
4150 Ringgold Road (Alarm/Crash Alert):
An automated crash alert notification was sent to the Hamilton County Dispatch Center for an unspecified event in the Walmart parking lot. The alert did not specify a vehicle or provide any details on the incident. Police and Fire both responded to the address; however, a crash was not located. Dispatch attempted several times to call the alarm company from which the automated notification was sent, but every call went to a voicemail.
3508 Crabtree Drive – Criminal Trespass –
Marshall Haley arrested for Criminal Trespass
3508 Crabtree Dr. (arrest/stolen vehicle recovery):
Police were responding to this area regarding a BOLO that had been issued. RP called stating a white SUV was pulling in and out of driveways on Crabtree Drive, and the RP was requesting police to search the area. Police observed a white SUV driving down Crabtree. The vehicle stopped and let a white male out. Police attempted to make contact with the male party, but he fled on foot. Police did locate the white SUV in the driveway of this residence and dispatch confirmed it was stolen and the tag was also stolen. Brittany Taylor was taken into custody for Theft over $1000 (stolen vehicle), criminal impersonation, and drug paraphernalia. A warrant will also be sought for filing a false report on Ms. Taylor
