The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” furnished by the ERPD.
May 25 Day Shift
There was a reported black bear sighting in the Harris Hills area today. It appeared to be just passing through.
21-007278- 4300 blk of Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person-
The caller advised of a white male screaming at cars and dancing in the street. On arrival police encountered the man. He was advised to stay out of the roadway.
21-007281- 3029 Ringgold Road (Tom’s Carpet)- Burglary-
The caller advised an unknown suspect(s) entered the business through a rear door and took a small amount of cash. The caller declined to file a report. He advised he just wanted police to be aware.
21-007284- 5813 Ringgold Road (GT Pawn)- Disorder Prevention-
The caller advised he located some of his belongings that had been stolen in Georgia. On arrival police spoke with the caller and the business owner. The caller agreed to pay for the item. He was advised to file a report with his local law enforcement agency.
21-007288- 3415 Shadowlawn Drive- Property Damage/AOA Warrant Service-
Matthew Poythress was detained on extraditable warrants out of Alabama during a property damage call. He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene, driving on revoked, and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to 601 without incident.
21-007300- Greenslake Road @ John Ross Road- Wellbeing Check-
The caller advised of an elderly female walking in the roadway. On arrival in the area police located the female at the Stop n Go Pharmacy. She advised she was ok.
21-007310- 3100 blk of Ringgold Road (Tunnels)- Check Hazard-
The caller advised two eighteen wheelers were stuck at/in the tunnels. On arrival police assisted with the removal of the vehicles.

Night Shift
5301 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop (21-007334):
Grace Atkins was taken into custody for DUI, minor in possession of alcohol, and speeding following a traffic stop.
4145 Ringgold Road / Burglary (21-007328):
Complainant reported that his apartment was burglarized between 5/21/21 at 0400 hours and 5/25/21 at around 2217 hours while he was out of town. The suspect took two Xbox 1 consoles, an HP laptop, and a silver iPhone 6 plus. There is no suspect information at this time.
5317 Ringgold Road / Disorder (21-007312):
Police were called due to Alan Hill causing a disorder inside the Auto Zone over a return he was attempting to make. Police spoke with the district manager who requested that Hill be criminally trespassed. Hill was advised of this and left the property.
1512 Karwill Ln Apt A – Aggravated Burglary / Domestic Assault – 21-007323 –
Police responded to a domestic assault at this location. Police discovered that Phillip Headrick had made entry to the residence without consent from the residents and assaulted two people. Headrick was formerly a roommate of the residents at this location. Warrants were taken out against Headrick, and he was later arrested in Walker County on the warrants.
728 Frawley Rd Apt 322 – AOA Warrant Service – 21-007332 –
Police responded to this address to serve a warrant out of sessions on Daniel Gray. Police contacted and detained Gray and transported him to the Hamilton County Jail on the warrant.
1417 St. Thomas St. – Welfare Check / Arrest – 21-007333 –
Police responded to Motel 6 on a welfare check for an individual. The individual was not present in the room but, during the investigation at the same room, Christy Jett was arrested and charged with possession of meth for resale, possession of schedule IV, possession of schedule V, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
21-007322/ 5700 Roper Street / Domestic Assault:
David Rolano was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. Their verbal argument escalated when Relano grabbed her by the left arm, twisting it behind her back until she felt a pop as if it dislocated. EMS checked the injury but did not believe it to be dislocated. The victim denied transport to the Hospital. Relano refused to offer his account of the events that took place without the presence of an attorney.
21-007339/ 1906 McBrien Road/ Prowler:
Police discovered a female subject sitting in the driveway at this address. She stated she was waiting for her friends to wake up to ask if she could stay with them. They denied letting her stay since they haven’t seen her in two years. She became upset when police notified her that she needed to leave. She began to claim that she was going to hurt herself, that she had nothing to live for. Police took her into protective custody and transported her to Parkridge East, where she is being evaluated for a Certificate of Need.
East District-Bear Sightings:
ERPD received three additional calls regarding bear sightings. The black bear was sighted at Frawley and Martha Ave., Behind Johnathan’s restaurant, and then in the 60 block of I-75 north. TWRA was notified and made aware of the sightings. At this time, the bear has shown no signs of aggression.
21-007340 3220 Gleason Drive / Disorder with a Weapon / Arrest:
Police responded to this location, and prior to police arrival, police were told by dispatch that a male was outside of an apartment banging on the door. The caller stated that the male had a firearm and that he was driving a black Dodge Charger. Police arrived on scene and observed a black Dodge Charger leaving the complex at a high rate of speed. Police conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Kenneth Sawyer. Police contacted the reporting party who stated that Sawyer had been in the breezeway kicking her door and yelling. The reporting party stated that Sawyer woke all residents of this apartment and surrounding apartments. Sawyer was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
