The following information was provided by East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.
May 09 – Day Shift
601 South Seminole Drive:
A caller advised that sometime between today and April 30th, someone entered the vacant residence and took several items, including the water heater and several copper pipes. The suspect(s) also vandalized the residence.
4334 Ringgold Road:
An ATM distress alarm was activated at the Regions Bank. Officers discovered that the ATM was being serviced and the alarm was active accidentally.
3300 block of Gleason Drive:
Police were dispatched to the area regarding a tree blocking the roadway. Police arrived on scene and discovered the tree to be a tree branch in the roadway. The tree branch was moved to the side of the road.
5418 Ringgold Road:
A call was received from the Apollo Car Wash regrading an unconscious man behind the wheel of a Chrysler 200 vehicle. Upon arrival of police, the man was found to be awake and well.
6514 Ringgold Road:
A call was received regarding a fuel spill at the Mapco Convenience Store. East Ridge Fire Department personnel responded and contained the spill.
3220 Gleason Drive:
An unknown 911 call was received at the Ridgeview Point Apartments. The area was checked but police were unable to locate the source of the 911 call.
1569 Burns Avenue:
A caller advised that sometime between 2:30 am and 6:30 am, his Chevrolet Suburban was vandalized. The caller advised that no items had been taken from the vehicle, but the suspect(s) vandalized the vehicle by tossing around items inside.
4214 Ringgold Road:
An unknown juvenile called a Crisis Resources operator and advised that she wanted to kill herself. The caller refused to give a location. While the Crisis operator was relaying information to dispatch the juvenile began cursing the operator and told her that he was now a boy and he was attempting a prank. The juvenile hung up the phone. The name given to the operator could not be verified through records on file.
May 09 – Night Shift
1514 Heather Street:
A woman called from Atlanta to report her mother missing form this address. The woman said that her mother, Heather Murray, was last heard from on April 26th. Police were unable to establish contact with Heather Murray at this location but were advised by dispatch that Heather Murray said she was moving out on April 26, 2019. Police entered Heather Murray into NCIC as a missing person.
4150 Monroe Street:
Police responded to Walmart after the loss prevention officer advised he witnessed a theft occur on May 02, 2019. Walmart Loss Prevention was able to identify the suspect as Ty Kyser of East Ridge, TN. The Loss Prevention officer said that Mr. Kyser entered the store with no items in his hands. Mr. Kyser was said to have gathered several items while inside the store and then attempt to return the items without an original purchase having occurred.
May 10 – Day Shift
3402 Navajo Drive:
Police responded to the Universalist Church after an alarm was activated. It was discovered that the alarm had been accidentally set off by a member of the church, who rents the building on Saturdays.
4214 Ringgold Road:
Michael Hannon was arrested at the Hamilton County Jail for an active East Ridge warrant.
5413 Dupont Street:
Police were called after movers placed a couch in front of a dumpster. The movers were advised by police to place the couch in a manner that would not block the dumpster.
May 10 – Night Shift
2015 Pioneer Ridge Trail:
A woman came to the police department to report a domestic assault that took place at her residence. The victim told police that her husband, Christopher Harp, hit her in the face with a phone and scratched her. The victim had scratches and blood on her face. Officers relocated to the residence where the incident occurred. Christopher Harp was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.
1105 Sewanee Drive:
A caller advised that a young child was in the parking lot by himself for several hours. The child was already gone when police arrived on scene.
3902 Ringgold Road:
An alarm was activated at Southern Fleet Sales. There was no forced entry or suspicious activity discovered at the location.
1417 North Mack Smith Road:
Judith Anderson was taken into custody for simple assault following a disorder that occurred.
4214 Ringgold Road:
James Davis was brought in by Platinum Bonding on a Capia warrant for vandalism and criminal mischief.
May 11 – Day Shift
1612 Castleberry Avenue:
A call was received about people being inside the condemned structure. Police spoke with the former tenant of the address and advised them to contact East Ridge Code Enforcement personnel prior to cleaning the home.
4214 Ringgold Road:
A Regions Bank Associate reported that a woman named Loren Coppinger cashed four (4) stolen checks at the East Ridge Regions Bank earlier last month.
3100 Ringgold Road:
An 18-wheeler got stuck in the tunnels and had to be assisted by police.
1517 Tombras Avenue:
A City employee observed multiple juveniles running in and out of the bathrooms at City Hall. The subjects were gone when police arrived.
3831 Altamira Drive:
The residents at this address called police in the middle of the night last night when they thought they heard someone attempting to break into the home. Police responded and found no indication that anyone had attempted to break into the home. The incident sparked an inability to go to sleep and resulted in the couple being too tired to go into work this morning. Their respective bosses were upset and requested a police report be filed to excuse their absences from work today.
May 11 – Night Shift
3925 Gleason Drive:
Police were called regarding a home nearby where loud music was being played. Police spoke to the person playing the loud music and they advised they would turn the volume down.
4338 Ringgold Road:
A caller advised police that a man appeared to be unconscious in the passenger seat of a vehicle with the door open. Police contacted the subject, who was just waiting on his wife to finish shopping in Food Lion.
4318 Greenbriar Road:
A caller advised that a man with no shirt tapped on the window of the residence and yelled at the caller. Police encountered the man in the 4300 block of Greenbriar Road. He was identified as Billy Davis. Mr. Davis appeared to be intoxicated while speaking to police. Mr. Davis admitted to taking Xanax earlier in the day. Mr. Davis was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with public intoxication.
2105 Wren Road:
A caller wanted to report an incident that happened on May 08, 2019. The caller said that his roommate swung a knife at him during an argument. The caller provided police with an audio recording of the incident. He told police that he didn’t want to get his roommate in trouble, but he did want her to move out of the residence.
3516 Mimbro Lane:
Christine Edwards reported that a patient left the home walking. Police located the patient at the East Ridge Car Wash and returned him to his caregiver at this location.
601 Walnut Street:
Jessica Turmon was arrested at the Hamilton County Jail for an active East Ridge failure to appear warrant.
May 12 – Day Shift
6514 Ringgold Road:
The caller requested police assistance due to mental health issues she was experiencing. She was transported to the hospital.
701-B Summit Avenue:
Jessica Schallhorn was arrested for domestic assault after she slapped her cousin in the face for eating her waffles. Ms. Schallhorn was transported to the Hamilton County jail.
107 Kingwood Drive:
A woman called to report the theft of her license plate.
210 Edwina Court:
Police responded after a 10-year-old child was accidentally stabbed in the eye with a pencil. Once on scene, it was discovered that the child had phoned it in as a prank.
1402 North Smith Street:
A woman reported taking her twelve-year-old daughter’s cellular phone from her for misbehaving. The child then went to the kitchen, retrieved a serrated knife, threatened her mother, and came at her with the blade. Th woman’s boyfriend walked in on the scene and the child dropped the knife and ran to another room. Police located the juvenile hiding under the bed and placed her in custody. She was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
403 McBrien Road:
Shannon Baker was arrested for public intoxication after wandering into Physician’s Care while under the influence of an unknown substance. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
Tombras Avenue / Ringgold Road:
Police responded to the area after receiving a report of an unknown man or woman with brown hair that exposing themselves to traffic. The person could not be located.
May 12 – Night Shift
3400 Gail Drive:
The caller stated that a pit bull was in her yard and barking aggressively at her. The caller said the dog had a collar with a long chain hanging off it. Police responded to the area but did not locate the animal.
4145 Cemetery Road:
A caller advised that there was a green VW with multiple people inside that were smoking marijuana. The vehicle was not located.
1309 San His Drive:
Police were dispatched to this address regarding a 14-year-old juvenile that was being unruly. Police spoke with the juvenile, who advised that he would obey his parents.
