Day Shift July 30
24-009697 – 700 BLK S Lovell Ave – Theft – The caller reported that his nephew had been stealing money from his mother’s checking account. Based on the bank statements provided by the caller, warrants for identity theft, theft over $2,500, and financial exploitation of elderly or vulnerable person will be sought.
Night Shift July 30
24-009710 – Pyron Ln/Delaware Dr – Check Hazard – Police were notified of a large tree blocking the roadway and the tree had possibly taken down powerlines. When officers arrived, they found a large tree branch had broken off from the tree and was blocking the roadway but did not contact any powerlines. Police notified the streets department and stood by while they cleared the roadway.
24-009711 – 3500 BLK Pinellas Lane – Check Hazard – Police responded to a Check Hazard call due to a tree being knocked down by strong winds. A caller advised the police that a vehicle was parked on the side of the road and had been covered by branches of the tree that had fallen from her front yard. With her and her husband’s permission, police lifted the branches off the vehicle. She was able to back out of the driveway. A property damage report was completed for insurance purposes. Police remained on scene while the street department cleared the roadway.
24-009712 – 800 BLK Harris Lane – Wires Down – Police responded to wires down in two locations in the vicinity of Bluebird Circle and Harris Lane. ER Fire Department & EPB were notified. Police controlled traffic for ER Fire to remove tree debris from the roadway. A physical barricade was placed on Bluebird Circle, and wires were enclosed with caution tape. EPB did not respond and advised they would repair the wires later when a service technician was available tomorrow.
24-009713 – 1600 BLK Castleberry Avenue – Wires Down – Police responded to a wire-down call at this address. Upon arrival, police noticed a large tree had fallen on the residence causing major structural damage to the roof and side of the property. Officers checked on the owner of the house who she stated that she was okay and the only occupant of the residence. Fire arrived on the scene and EPB was called to handle the tree and the powerlines.
24-009714 – 600 BLK Brookfield Ave – Check Hazard – Police responded and aided neighbors at this location by helping to remove a tree from the roadway.
24-009720—4214 Ringgold Rd—Warrant Service – Police conducted a warrant service on a man who had active warrants in East Ridge. Officers collected him from Rhea County and transported him to the Hamilton County Jail without issue.
24-009722 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Rd – Recovered Stolen Auto – While conducting patrol, officers discovered a stolen auto. A white Toyota Tacoma in the parking lot matched the description of a stolen vehicle from 07/28/2024. The Tacoma was recovered by tow after several attempts to notify the owner. The Tacoma had front-end damage and appeared undriveable. A supplement to the original report was completed and the stolen auto was removed from NCIC. See original complaint # 24-009657.
