Night Shift January 5
24-000202 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Pursuit of Vehicle – Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an improperly lit taillight. The driver was found to have a verified warrant out of Hamilton County for domestic assault. Officers told him to step out of the vehicle multiple times, which he refused. While attempting to remove him from the vehicle, he attempted to flee by accelerating the vehicle. While attempting to flee, an officer was struck by the vehicle on the right side and a second officer jumped away from the vehicle for fear of being struck. Officers pursued the vehicle ultimately ending at 1000 BLK Hibbler Circle after the vehicle became stuck in a wood line while trying to drive through someone’s yard. The driver was taken into custody for felony evading, two counts of aggravated assault on police, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and other traffic offenses.
24-000199 – 4300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Theft from Vehicle – The caller reported his Glock 19X with magazine was stolen from his vehicle sometime between 12/26/2023 and 1/5/2024. No forced entry because the car was unlocked. The firearm was entered as stolen in NCIC.
24-000203 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Rd – Suspicious Activity – Police received a call about a woman taking plastic bags from the ice machine in the 5700 block of Ringgold Rd. She had active warrants out of Hamilton County Sessions Court. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without issue.
24-000212 – 200 BLK Eads St – Traffic Stop/AOA – ERPD Officers received a BOLO from CPD regarding a white Dodge Charger which fled from a traffic stop. The vehicle was registered to a party at Eads St. Later in the night officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle as it entered the apartments. CPD was notified however could not identify the driver at the time of the incident.
Day Shift January 6
24-000216- 5300 BLK Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person- The caller advised a homeless male was sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the business. Officers spoke with the man who was was checked for warrants and sent on his way.
24-000222- 4100 BLK Ringgold Road- Shoplifting- Officers spoke with the loss prevention officer. He advised he observed an unknown male, wearing a tan jacket and jeans, taking items from the grocery section of the store, and putting the items in his pants. The unknown subject then began walking to the front of the store when employees confronted him. The subject refused to speak and left the property on a scooter. Police checked the surrounding neighborhoods, but the suspect was not located.
Night Shift January 6
24-000235 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Mental Health – A woman living in her green Nissan Armada told police she suspected someone broke into her vehicle because she found a plastic clothing tag in her floorboard she did not recognize. Police determined no break-in had occurred. She will be parked at the location until her automobile gets repaired.
24-000242 – 3800 BLK Altamira Drive – Assault – A woman was arrested for Assault x 2 against her care takers after striking the arm of one and hurling a toaster oven at the other; Interfering with 911 for breaking a care takers cell phone to prevent her calling police; and Vandalism under $1,000 for damages done to personal property of her roommates, and property of the group home furnishings and décor.
24-000247 – 9600 BLK E. Brainerd Road, Circle K – Arrest-Warrant – A woman was arrested on a Petition to Revoke warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance. She was transported to Hamilton County Jail by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
24-000249 – 3500 BLK Shelby Circle – Aggravated Domestic/DUI – Police responded to reports of a male subject assaulting a female subject at this address. Upon arrival officers were advised the female left in a Kia Soul. Officers located the Kia Soul at the intersection of John Ross Road and Bennet Road. After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle the female subject, was taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault, DUI, interference with 911 calls, retaliation for past acts and driving on suspended.
Day Shift January 7
24-000264- 5300 BLK Roosevelt Road- Delayed Assault- A woman reported her ex-boyfriend strangled her, restricting her breathing multiple times. Visible evidence of the strangulation was observed on the victim’s neck. Warrants are pending for Aggravated Assault (Domestic).
24-000263- 600 BLK South Lovell Avenue- Theft- On scene police spoke with the complainant who stated at around 1000 hours she noticed her black soft top bed cover had been taken from her Toyota Tacoma that was parked in her driveway. She stated she last noticed the bed cover last night around 2200 hours when she left her residence. The victim told police that she had asked her neighbors if they had seen anything or noticed any suspicious activity. One neighbor told her when he got home from work around 0100 hours, he noticed an older model SUV and a white pickup truck in the neighborhood. The unknown suspect did not take any of the other items in the bed of the truck.
24-000273- 900 BLK Spring Creek Road- Domestic Assault- A man was arrested by the hospital officer after being observed hitting his girlfriend. He was taken into custody and transported to the police department.
24-000276- 500 BLK Stimpson Drive- Open Door/Burglary- The caller advised an unknown suspect(s) entered the vacant house at this address. He advised this occurred sometime between 1-4 and today. There were multiple items taken.
Night Shift January 7
24-000277 – 200 BLK Eads Street – Disorder w/ Weapon – A woman pulled a gun on her ex-husband when he used his foot to stop the front door of the apartment where her boyfriend lives. She articulated to the police she was afraid for her safety and the safety of her children is why she pointed her gun. Both parties were separated, and a report would be provided for both parties to seek restraining orders for their protection.
24-000286 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Wellness Check – A resident requested a check of his neighbor due to sounds of a dog in distress for over an hour. Police contacted residents who have a new puppy.
Day Shift January 8
24-000288—300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway—Pedestrian Struck – Police were dispatched to this location regarding a male party who had left the crosswalk area and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The party was transported for medical treatment.
24-000310 – 5900 BLK Welworth Avenue – Assist Fire – Police responded to this location to assist the fire department for an illegal fire. On arrival, ERFD was able to extinguish the fire and the parties were advised not to burn things in their yard.
24-000306 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man was arrested on two outstanding warrants for unlawful drug paraphernalia and theft.
Night Shift January 8
24-000322 – 5400 BLK Connell Street – Collapsed Structure – Police and Fire responded to a residence that was heavily damaged by a fallen tree. The occupants of the home were able to get out of the structure. One child was treated at the scene for a minor injury. The residence is currently unsafe for anyone to enter it.
24-000318 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Pursuit of vehicle – Police were given a bolo of a reckless and possible DUI driver. Police located the vehicle in the 4300 block of Ringgold Road. Officers observed the vehicle fail to maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from the police. Due to the vehicle’s reckless driving and danger to the public, police pursued the vehicle. The driver was detained, and he was taken for medical clearance. Charges on the driver are pending currently.
