Day Shift December 20
23-016068 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Felony Evading/Felony Drug Possession – Police were alerted by a license plate reader (LPR) of a silver BMW XI in the Camp Jordan area. The vehicle has fled from CPD multiple times. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle began to flee at a high rate of speed. Police observed the vehicle stop on the I-75 north straight ramp and throw a bag of marijuana, close to a pound, out of the passenger door. The marijuana was retrieved and placed in property and evidence. Warrants pending on positive identification of the driver and passenger.
23-016069 – 2000 BLK Myrtle Ave – Person Shot – Police, EMS, ERFD responded to this location after a man accidentally shot himself in the hand while attempting to pressure check the safety on his S&W M &P Shield .40 Cal. After police secured the scene, EMS arrived and transported the patient to an area hospital.
23-016067-5300 BLK Rose St.- Deceptive Practice- The caller reported fraud with her Express Benefits card. She stated she believed either her ex- girlfriend or another known party gained access to her account and took $147 and changed the mailing address. She stated she has filed paperwork with the card issuer.
Night Shift December 20
23-016085—3800 BLK Altamira Drive – Well Being Check – The caller requested a wellbeing check for her adult daughter. The woman lives in the group home at this location, but she was transported to another facility on Dec 19 following a disorder. She is also a ward of the state, and her mother has no parental rights over her. Police explained the situation to the caller and police did not provide any personal information.
No Case Number Assigned – 5700 BLK Ringgold Road. – Suspicious Vehicle – Officers observed a red Chevy Malibu parked at the location with two occupants asleep in the vehicle. Officers spoke with the parties who appeared intoxicated. The Malibu appeared to have minor damage to the right side. Officers allowed the parties to be given a ride to their home by a family member. Officers notified the rental company of the situation who advised they would work on getting a wrecker to recover the vehicle.
