Day Shift December 23
24-015957 – 1510 Maxwell Road – Theft – Police responded to the post office to investigate a reported theft. Officers spoke with the reporting party who told police he dropped a $292.48 check in the exterior blue box around Halloween. He was notified by his bank that the check was washed for $4,000 and deposited remotely.
No Number Assigned- Summit Apartments- Assist Citizen – Police were flagged down by a resident of Summit Apartments. The resident informed police her car would not start and needed a jump. An officer assisted her, and she went on her way.
24-015968- 100 BLK Hilldale Rd.- Suspicious Person – Police responded to this address on reports of a male yelling. The officer spoke with a man who advised he was upset and frustrated that his vehicle kept breaking down. He was checked for warrants and sent on his way.
Night Shift December 23
24-015980 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – A male subject called the Hamilton County Dispatch and advised the market was being robbed. Police responded to the location and quickly determined that a robbery had not taken place. Officers then met with a reporting party at his residence on Saint Thomas Street. The subject claimed he saw the store being robbed through a mental vision. Police advised the subject to not report a crime unless he physically observes it. No charges were preferred due to the subject’s mental health history.
24-015985 – 300 BLK North Germantown Road – Assist Other Agency – East Ridge Police units responded to a support request from the Chattanooga police near N Germantown Road and Ridgeside Road. CPD units had responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries on N Germantown Rd and an occupant fled on foot. ERPD units assisted in securing the crash scene and checked the City of Ridgeside for suspicious activity. Police found no unusual activities or suspicious persons in Ridgeside.
24-015995 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Assist Other Agency – A female approached East Ridge Police units and stated she was assaulted by her boyfriend on 15th Ave in Chattanooga. Police observed visible injuries on the female’s face and EMS responded to the location. CPD Baker units were advised of the incident and the female victim met with CPD near the original crime scene.
24-015996 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road- Back Fire Unit – Police assisted the East Ridge Fire Department in evacuating the hotel after a fire alarm was tripped. Fire Inspectors determined the hotel guests in a room tripped the alarm by smoking in their room.
24-015978 – 2000 BLK Pioneer Ridge Trail – Well-being Check – A man called the Hamilton County Dispatch and requested a police officer come to his home to speak with his misbehaving 7-year-old. Dispatch advised him that the police do not provide this service, and he made a derogatory statement. Due to the circumstances, an officer went to the home and conducted a well-being check with the children. No issues were observed.
24-015997 – South Seminole Drive– Theft from Vehicle – An Uber driver advised that a man stole a cell phone from his vehicle. The victim showed police a Cash App payment from the suspect and stated he could not locate his phone after he left his vehicle. The victim further stated that the phone had been turned off and he could not locate it using the built in service. Police attempted contact with the suspect at his apartment, but there was no response at the door.
Day Shift December 24
24-016008 – 1100 BLK McBrien Road– Disorder – A woman called police after her roommate tried to kick her out of the residence following a verbal disorder. Both parties were asked to stay in their separate rooms until they calmed down.
24-015998 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Unconscious Person – Police responded to check on a driver who reportedly had been parked for several hours and possibly unconscious. Upon arrival officers woke up the party who was sleeping after a long day of Christmas shopping. She was concerned about driving home sleepy so she had pulled into the lot to rest.
24-016005 – 1000 BLK John Ross Road – Burglar Alarm – Police were dispatched to investigate an alarm. Police found an unsecure window. Police cleared the school and found nothing out of the ordinary. School maintenance arrived to deactivate the alarm.
24-016007- 1400 BLK Melody Ln- Theft – Police responded to this address for reports of stolen mail. Police spoke with the reporting party who advised he had found an open piece of his mail a block from his home on 11/28/24. He advised he did not notice any other mail missing. Report on file.
24-016004 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – Police spoke with an employee of the hotel who stated that a man had entered the lobby and started a verbal altercation with him. Employees stated he was on the banned list and was not allowed to rent a room. He left before police arrival, but officers were requested by the employee to trespass the suspect if located.
24-016013 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Intoxicated Party – Police placed a man into custody for public intoxication and was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.
Night Shift December 24
EDITOR’S NOTE: Police humor: No Case Number Assigned – 200 Brookwood Drive, Ridgeside – Suspicious Vehicle / Pursuit of Vehicle –The Hamilton County Dispatch Center issued three separate BOLOs for a suspicious vehicle, describing it as a red sleigh with 9 reindeer and a heavyset male driver. Approximately three hours later, an ERPD Police Officer observed a vehicle matching the BOLO near a residence in Ridgeside. Police approached the vehicle, but the sleigh and reindeer immediately took flight. Police attempted to catch up with the vehicle but could not maintain a good visual of it. Another ERPD officer then spotted the suspicious sleigh flying overhead in the 700 block of S Germantown Road. He also noted the sleigh was dropping unknown items onto homes in the area. In the area of Spring Creek Road, an ERPD Officer got below the suspicious sleigh, activated his emergency lights, and attempted to stop it. The sleigh driver ignored the traffic stop and continued flying at a high rate of speed while yelling in a mocking tone, “Ho! Ho! Ho!” The ERPD Officer initiated a vehicle pursuit but soon lost visual of the sleigh and the 9 reindeer as it traveled over I-75 Northbound. An incident BOLO was sent to the surrounding agencies.
Multiple Noise Complaints at Different Locations – ERPD units responded to fifteen separate Noise Complaints involving fireworks. For most of the incidents, ERPD units located the responsible subjects and advised them on the East Ridge City Ordinance for the discharge of fireworks. Most noise complaints occurred between 2300 and 0100 hours.
24-016039 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Rd – Traffic Stop / DUI Arrest – Police observed a black Jeep crossing the centerline and speeding on Ringgold Road. Police initiated a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Ringgold Rd and the driver continued to the 3600 block before stopping. The driver’s juvenile child was also found in the vehicle with him. Following an investigation, the driver was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Child Endangerment. The juvenile was released to a family member who responded to the arrest location.
Day Shift December 25
24-016047-1100 BLK McBrien Road- Disorder – Police were dispatched to this address for a verbal argument between two occupants of the property. One party advised police that his roommate was using marijuana inside the residence and wanted something done about it. Officers then spoke with the other party who stated that she would not hand over the substance to the police. Both parties were advised to separate for the time being and advised on how to begin an eviction process.
Night Shift December 25
24-016065 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Unconscious Person / Narcotics Arrest – Police responded to the gas station on a report of an unconscious person locked in the restroom. Police contacted the man who consented to a search of his person. Officers located 6.4 grams of suspected Fentanyl and multiple items of drug paraphernalia on his person. The man denied treatment by EMS and was placed in custody for possession of fentanyl for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
24-016054 – 1300 BLK Choate Road – Abandoned Property – Police recovered a black and blue Mongoose bicycle abandoned in the front yard of a residence. The bike was not reported stolen. It was placed into property and evidence as found property.
24-016056 – 1700 BLK Keeble Street – Well-Being Check – While dispatched to a well-being check police arrested a man for Public Intoxication after he was discovered in the backseat of his Nissan Titan with four (4) empty beers & two empty “Buzz Balls”, having soiled himself and unable to communicate because of his level of intoxication. His Nissan Titan was inventoried and towed.
