Day Shift August 29
24-011104 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person – Police were dispatched after a drive thru customer got upset that a cashier “snatched” her debit card from her hand. She began yelling at the cashier and the shift manager. The manager gave the customer her food free of charge and returned her debit card. The customer then brandished a firearm and told the manager she was going to blow their faces off before she drove off in her red VW Atlas.
24-01084 – 3100 Ringgold Road – Crash – Officers worked a crash at the intersection of S. Seminole and Ringgold Rd involving a semi-truck. The vehicle attempted to turn around prior to entering the tunnel and struck a utility pole bringing wires down and breaking the pole. THP investigated the crash, and the driver of the truck received a plethora of citations. Police were on scene for multiple hours providing traffic control. Approximately 35 traffic citations were written to drivers who ignored patrol vehicles, barricades, cones and detour signs. These individuals drove into a closed crash scene and were cited accordingly.
24-011101 – 1517 Tombras Avenue – Warrant Arrest – A man was taken into custody at East Ridge City Hall on several Alias/Capias warrants.
24-011085 – 5500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Vehicle – A dark SUV was observed traveling at a high rate of speed west bound running red lights. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on McBrien Rd. Police were unable to get close enough to initiate a stop due to heavy traffic.
24-011087 – 3700 BLK Anderson Avenue – Stolen Vehicle Recovered – A Chattanooga officer requested an East Ridge officer visit this address to locate a stolen 2017 Nissan Altima. Police found the car but were unable to contact the owner. The vehicle was removed from NCIC and towed to the impound lot for processing.
24-011100- 3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Crash/ Arrest – Police were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Germantown Road and Ringgold Road. As police arrived, a black sedan involved in the crash fled north on Germantown Road. The vehicle was stopped by police near Cathy Lane. The driver was found to have no driver’s license and a child unrestrained in the vehicle. She received a misdemeanor citation for driving without a license and leaving the scene of the crash.
Night Shift August 29
24-011108 – 1300 BLK Greens Lake Rd – Traffic Stop / Arrest – Police observed a red Honda Civic operating with blacked out windows and initiated a traffic stop. Officers found the driver’s license was Revoked for DUI. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
24-011116 -1508 S Rugby Place – Building Collapse – Police and Fire personnel responded to the report of a tree falling on a house. It was found that no one was injured, and the damage was mostly contained to a carport and storage room. Fire checked the home, and the resident was cleared to stay in the home.
24-011114- 700 BLK Frawley Road– Theft – A woman reported approximately $5,200 in cash was stolen from her bedroom closet. She stated she last saw the money on 08/21/24 in the evening hours. Police observed no signs of forced entry, and she advised no one had a key to her apartment. Police determined several individuals had visited in the timeframe the money was stolen.
24-011118 – 5000 BLK South Terrace – Field Interview – Police found a man and woman sleeping in a truck at this location. While Officers made contact, a human arm was observed protruding from a large amount of garbage in the bed. The arm was thankfully found connected to a third individual sleeping underneath the garbage. All three parties were identified, and a Field Interview was completed.
