The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” provided by the administration of the East Ridge Police Department.
August 19 – Day Shift
3228 Westonia Drive (suspicious activity):
Resident reported that he was watching his camera notifications from last night and observed a male with a hoodie walking in his backyard trying to open the door handle on his truck in the driveway. The male used a flashlight to look inside the vehicle before left the area. This occurred at 1:30 a.m. (21-011900)

August 19 – Night Shift
3400 block Gail Dr (Disorder/Arrest 21-011932):
Karen Peppers was taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault. Peppers had become enraged with her sister and her sister’s ex-husband at No. 5 Franklin Place. Peppers entered the residence with a Taser and threatened to Tase the male party and her sister. Her sister fled the residence and Peppers gave chase to 3415 Gail Dr. When officers arrived Peppers had her sister’s vehicle blocked in the driveway and Taser in hand. During the investigation of the event it was learned Peppers had also pointed a firearm at the victims. She was additionally charged with being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
3392 Shadowlawn Dr (Disorder 21-011938):
Neighbors were in a verbal disorder over parking spaces. Officers were able to help the parties come to a resolution for the evening.
6514 Ringgold Rd (AOA Warrant 21-011945):
Erika Haynes was detained on Catoosa County warrants and transported to Silverdale.
6500 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-011942):
Kaleb Merritt was taken into custody for driving while revoked for DUI. He was transported to Silverdale.
3657 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-001954):
Rachel Vandiver was taken into custody for possession of crack cocaine.

August 20 – Day Shift
21-011956- 3624 Glen Oaks Drive- Auto Theft-
The resident called to report her vehicle stolen. She reported parking her car on 8/19/21 around 8 PM and accidentally leaving her purse with the vehicle key in the car. Around 1130 PM the resident got a notification on her phone that her car door was left open. When she woke this morning to take her daughter to school she walked outside around 745AM to find her vehicle, a 2021 VW Atlas bearing TN tag 9CPC07, had been stolen. The resident utilized an application on her phone to pinpoint the most recent location of the vehicle which showed on 2500 Ocoee Street. Chattanooga Police responded to that location and found the vehicle parked at 2517 Ocoee Street with a male juvenile in the driver seat. The juvenile was arrested and charged accordingly.
No number assigned- 1600 block Rugby Place- Extra Watch-
A resident of the street requested an extra watch of her residence due to her vehicle being entered last night. She declined to file a report.

August 20 – Night Shift
3222 Gleason Drive / Arrest-Drugs and Gun:
After a consensual encounter, Chelsea Anderson was found to be in possession of marijuana for resale, edibles, and a firearm. A consent search of her apartment yielded additional edibles and crack cocaine.
1410 Mack Smith Road / Disorder: (21-011983):
Budgetel staff called police to report that Henrietta Barnes was causing a disorder and bothering other guests by screaming and yelling racial slurs at them. Police made contact with the clerk on site and she stated that she wished for Barnes to be criminally trespassed. Police made contact with Barnes and explained that she was being trespassed from the hotel. Officers also offered her transport to the Chattanooga Rescue Mission. Once on scene at the Rescue Mission, Barnes began to scream at police and refused to exit the patrol vehicle, which caused Rescue Mission staff to refuse to allow her inside. Chattanooga Police were called to the scene and upon their arrival, Barnes told them that she needed an ambulance. HCEMS arrived on scene and transported Barnes to Erlanger Hospital.
1503 McDonald Road / Arrest:
Police were dispatched to the Waverly Motel after someone called stating there was a female participating in narcotic activity and had active warrants. Police arrived and met with Laura Roberts, who had warrants out of Hamilton County. Roberts gave consent for police to search her motel room where drug paraphernalia was found as well as 14 Zolpidem pills were found as well and 270 Tramadol pills. While speaking with Roberts, two men came to the room. Robert Covington and Andrew Sizemore were found to have non extraditable warrants through other states, however Sizemore’s name was on the rental of the motel room. Neither Sizemore nor Roberts claimed the paraphernalia and narcotics, therefor both were taken into custody for two counts of Possession of Schedule IV, Possession of Schedule I, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
5317 Ringgold Road / Traffic Crash / Arrest:
Hovin Paz Diaz was arrested for DUI, two counts of Vehicular assault, resisting arrest, driving without a license, failure to maintain lane, and failure to exercise due care following a traffic crash at this location. Diaz was transported to the Hamilton County Jail with no further issue. Traffic Crash Report, Incident Report, and Arrest Report on file.
3949 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant:
Scottie Dean Wilson was arrested on a Forfeiture Capias warrant for Simple Domestic Assault. Wilson was released on OR bond.
4214 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant:
Kenneth Anthony Blount was arrested on a Forfeiture Capias warrant for Public Intoxication with a $60,000 bond.
4214 Ringgold Road / Arrest-Warrant:
Harry Delano Hill III was arrested on a Forfeiture Capias warrant for Driving While License Revoked.
4300 Ringgold Road / Arrest-DUI:
Lana Marie Bellar was arrested for DUI after crashing her vehicle at the intersection of Ringgold Road and S. Moore Road.
