The following information was compiled from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.
July 30 Day Shift
801 State Line Road:
Police responded to a burglar alarm at this residence and found an open door. There did not appear to be any evidence of forced entry. The door was re-secured.
915 South Seminole Drive:
The complainant reported that her neighbor, Gerald Woods, stole the tag off her vehicle. She observed her tag on his vehicle this morning. Gerald Woods was issued a misdemeanor citation.
1808 Gunbarrel Pointe:
East Ridge Police responded to this location regarding a domestic disorder that originated at 2131 Dugan Street. Jimmy Jenkins, father of a child of a woman who lives at the Dugan Street address, came to her home seeking sex. She refused, but she agreed to drive him to his place of employment in Chattanooga. While en route, Jenkins became enraged and broke out the windshield of the woman’s vehicle and then destroyed the interior of the car. Two witnesses saw this occur and followed the car while calling police. Jenkins was arrested for vandalism and domestic assault.
4131 Ringgold Road:
The complainant reported the theft of a catalytic converter taken from a church van. The theft occurred between 1:00 pm on July 14th and 7:00 am on July 27th.
5347 Rose Street:
A woman, who wished to remain anonymous, came to the police department to report suspicious activity at this address. She said that vehicles are regularly pulling into the driveway, honking the horn, and then being met briefly by a thin, black haired, female that resides at the location.
1410 Mack Smith Road:
Hotel staff stated that an unknown male subject broke into a room and stayed there without paying. The male subject then ran off and entered a different room. Police encountered Miguel Cuevas Jr., who stated he was at the location to help a friend. Staff refused to prosecute, so Mr. Cuevas was released following a check for warrants.
941 Spring Creek Road:
The complainant reported the theft of her license plate that was on her Nissan Altima while parked at the hospital.
1628 John Ross Road:
Police responded to this address on a well-being check after neighbors noticed an odor coming from the house. They also had not heard from, or seen, the resident for an extended period. Entry was made into the residence. John Hays was found deceased. A family member was notified, and the decedent was taken to Lane’s Funeral Home.

Night Shift
1606 Heather Street:
Police arrested Jose Tomas Marroquin after he went joyriding in his sister’s car. He damaged the car and then spray painted the car to conceal the damages.
1508 Karwill Lane:
Jayme Taylor and Charles Alexander were in a physical altercation at this address. Police could not determine the primary aggressor due to the stories from each of the subjects not matching. The subjects were separated for the night.
1200 Frederick Drive:
Bruce Swann was arrested for DUI 2nd offense after a resident called in observing a tan Ford Crown Victoria parked in the middle of the road with a male subject passed out behind the wheel.
1517 Tombras Avenue:
Brian Lackey was arrested at the East Ridge City Court on an active warrant.
5740 Ringgold Road:
The complainant reported that two females in a white PT Cruiser stole a desk from the Goodwill Donation Center. The complainant showed police a video from his phone which showed two females exit a PT Cruiser and look at a black desk next to the donation area. According to the complainant, the females loaded the desk in the vehicle, then drove south on Keeble Street.
1523 Keeble Street:
Police responded to a suspicious activity call at the Hide-Away storage and observed a gray sedan with no lights driving inside the fenced area. Police contacted the driver of the gray sedan inside the facility. The driver stated that she and her mother rented a storage unit and she was putting a few items in the unit. Police ran the driver’s information through dispatch and found no active warrants for her. There were no signs of forced entry in the nearby storage units.
1523 Keeble Street:
Police encountered Stephen Chadwick while he was in the Hide-Away Storage area after dark with the driver of the car in the above brief. Police found that Chadwick had an active warrant out of East Ridge. He was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
