_ 1503 McDonald Rd.: Police were called to the Waverly Motel, Thursday just before midnight, in regard to a domestic disorder. According to a police report, officers spoke with the a man and woman who appeared to be intoxicated. The woman told officers that she had been in a verbal argument with Randall G. Sears for much of the evening and that argument turned physical. The woman stated that she confronted Sears about calling another woman earlier in the day on his phone. The report states that later in the evening Sears punched the woman with his fist on the left side of her face. Police observed visible swelling in the woman’s face. The woman also stated that Sears threw a glass dish, shattering it against the wall. The report states that Sears denied that anything had happened and that he just wanted to go to bed. Sears said he was pushed into a a desk resulting in the breaking of the glass dish. Sears, 50 and homeless, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a charge of Domestic Assault. It is unclear when he is due to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court.
_ 3600 block Ringgold Rd.: An East Ridge officer stopped to talk with a man who was pushing a shopping cart full of miscellaneous items down the city’s commercial corridor at 7:45 Wednesday evening. According to a police report, the man appeared nervous and when asked for his name was unsure of how to answer. When asked for his birthday and social security number for reporting purposes he said he didn’t know. The report states that the man gave the name “Wayne Smith.” When the officer asked if he was wanted by police he said that he was, and his real name was Justin Tocknell, providing his date of birth as well. Warrants were verified against the man. Tocknell, the report states, who had his hands cuffed behind his back, then dashed across Ringgold Road in an attempt to get away from being taken into custody. The officer quickly gave chase and Tocknell was taken back into custody. Tocknell slammed his head against the interior of the police cruiser and stated that he wanted to die and would be committing suicide once inside the jail. Tocknell, 33, of a 40th Street address in Chattanooga, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on charges of Criminal Impersonation and Escape.
_ 4222 Ringgold Rd.: Police responded to the Walmart Neighborhood Market, Tuesday evening, on an indecent exposure report. According to a police report, a woman told the officer that she had been in the parking lot of the store where she saw a man masturbating in the parking lot. The woman told police that she was walking to her car when she saw a white male in a White Chrysler PT Cruiser with a red dealer tag. She said hello to the man and he replied to her greeting. The report states that the woman said that just after saying hello she saw that the man’s penis was in his hand and that he was rubbing it while speaking to her. The woman attempted to take a picture of the car and tag but was unsuccessful, the report states. The woman told police that the man almost ran over her with the car as he sped away in the car. The man is described as having a dark complexion, in his late 20’s or early 30’s.
