_ 4222 Ringgold Rd.: Early Wednesday morning, police were called to the Speedway by a man who said that he had been robbed. According to a police report, officers spoke with the man who said that the robbery had occurred at his home on Duval Street at about midnight. The man said he had met the suspect on a dating app and invited him to his house for dinner. After dinner the man left but returned at about midnight. The victim told officers that the two were talking in the house when there was a knock at the front door. The suspect opened the door and an unknown black woman entered the house with a .22-cal rifle. The woman handed off the rifle to the suspect and the victim was told to sit down. The report states that the woman was then instructed by the suspect to ransack the rooms inside the house. According to the report, the victim related that the pair left the house after “acquiring the property they wanted.”
When the suspect and woman left the house, they took the victim’s 2001 Nissan Altima that was parked in the driveway. The victim told police that when he realized they were gone he tried to contact his mother via email. When that failed, the victim ran to the Speedway to call police for help. The report states that the stolen car was entered into NCIC.
_ 6513 Ringgold Rd.: Police were called to the Waffle House early Tuesday morning in reference to a suspicious person. According to a police report, an employee called to report that a white male with shaggy hair wearing a green t-shirt and dark basketball shorts had been walking around in the parking lot for several hours. The report states that the caller thought the man had a handgun tucked into his pants. The employee reported that the suspicious man had been in and out of the restaurant six times without making purchase. He did ask for a cup of water. The caller said when he left the last time the man walked toward the Mapco.
The report states that police checked the area and made contact with a man who matched the description provided by the caller. The man told officers that he had seen another party at the Waffle House carrying a handgun but that it was in a holster. The man told police that the man they were looking for left on a sport bike.
The report states that a “visual inspection” of the man providing the information revealed that he had no concealed weapons on his person. The man’s information was documented and he was allowed to leave.
