East Ridge police have charged a man with several felonies associated with an incident in late February.
According to a press release, on Thursday, ERPD officers along with law enforcement partners located and arrested Edward Dewayne Duckett, 24, of an Arcadia Avenue address in Chattanooga, on felony warrants stemming from a February 27 incident in which Duckett chose to ram a police vehicle.
On that date ERPD received a stolen vehicle hit on the LPR (License Plate Reader) located at Camp Jordan Parkway and Ringgold Road. Officers attempted to interdict the suspect and upon giving him verbal commands, he taunted police and intentionally accelerated towards officers nearly striking one.
East Ridge Detectives were able to investigate and quickly identify Duckett as the suspect. He was arrested today on warrants charging: two counts of aggravated assault on police, felony reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest, and theft over $10,000.
ERPD Chief Clint Uselton would like to thank the officers and investigators of the East Ridge Police Department for their work in resolving this case. Additionally, the assistance of our law enforcement partners from both local, state, and federal entities cannot go without praise.
