Pioneers Take Pirates in Soccer

East Ridge blanked Sale Creek, 5-0, Monday in a District 6 A/AA high school soccer match at Camp Jordan’s Weldon Osborne Stadium.

The Pioneer offense spread the wealth as five different players scored. Rijad Kazic, Hunter Schobert, Rivaldo Yoc Bamaca, Adam Adem and Greg Mendez each scored for East Ridge, which moved to 3-1 and a perfect 2-0 in the district on the young season. East Ridge had 20 shots, while the Pioneer pressing defense only allowed Sale Creek three shots.

Kazic, Yoc Bamaca, Joel Matias and Luis Padilla were credited with assists.

The Pioneers will host Central tonight at 7 p.m. in another district contest.
