The East Ridge High School football team remained undefeated on the year with a 14-9 win over Notre Dame Friday evening on the Irish’s home turf.
Traneil Moore topped the 1,000-yard mark for the season by rushing for 217 yards on 30 carries.

East Ridge scored on its initial possession. Moore romped the final 13 yards for one of two touchdowns he would score on the night.
Notre Dame bounced back with running back Ricky Ballard scoring from 40 yards out. The Irish took the lead, 9-7, on a safety.
East Ridge (7-0, 3-0 in Region 3/3A) scored on a short Moore run early in the second quarter, taking a 14-9 lead that would ultimately account for all the scoring.
East Ridge quarterback Eric Bennett completed six of 11 throws accounting for 105 yards in challenging conditions. The Pioneers were penalized only five times for 40 yards, while Notre Dame marched backward 15 times, amassing 146 yards in penalties.
