East Ridge’s boys soccer team remained undefeated on the year with a win over Lincoln County and a draw with Signal Mountain, Saturday, in the Cleveland Invitational Tournament.
The Pioneers (7-0-2) trounced Lincoln County, 6-1, getting four goals from Rijad Kazic and two from Adam Adem. Adem and Kazic were both credited with two assists in the contest. Yovany Nieves also picked up an assist in a contest where East Ridge out-shot its opponent, 16-4.
Goalkeeper Darian Smith continued his stellar play with three saves.
In the Signal Mountain game, East Ridge couldn’t get any of its 12 shots in the net. A defense led by Jaime Aguilar, Peter Vicente Izep, Caleb Serrato and Luis Padilla limited Signal Mountain to two shots. Smith was credited with two saves.
The Pioneers have a big District 8-AA match with Hixson on Tuesday at Camp Jordan. Game time is 7 p.m.
