A motorist was taken to an area hospital after the car he was driving left Interstate 24 and crashed, early Sunday morning.
According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, fire and police were dispatched to the single car accident at 18300 block of Interstate 24 at 12:30 a.m.. When emergency workers arrived they found where a vehicle had left the interstate, entered the woods and was on its top.
Officials said the driver had crawled from the wreckage and was found near Germantown Road some minutes later. The man had sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to a local hospital by Memorial EMS, officials said.
