Police were initially dispatched to a minor hit and run traffic crash but on arrival found a road rage type of assault had occurred. On scene police spoke to the victim. She stated she was not involved in an MVC but was assaulted. She stated she was in line for the drive-through at Dunkin Donuts when she allowed a vehicle to pass in front of her. A silver Ford F150 that was behind the previous vehicle drove around to the right side of the victim’s black Honda Accord and cut her off in the drive-through line. The driver of the Ford truck exchanged words with the victim. As she was attempting to avoid more confrontation she moved to the front of the store where the truck followed and parked behind her car. An employee of Dunkin Donuts stepped outside of the entrance door and observed the suspect, a passenger in the Ford truck, exit the passenger side of the truck and step to within inches of the victim. Face to face, both parties exchanged words to include racial slang up to where he spit in the victim’s face. As he walked off, he turned and threw his cell phone at the victim. Both the victim and witness observed the man pick up the suspect’s cell phone and leave the scene. The employee stated that a few minutes later the suspect contacted the Dunkin Donuts Manager via telephone to explain that he and his friend’s actions were provoked by the victim striking his vehicle with hers. Police reviewed security camera footage but did not observe a collision. Police called the driver of the truck and he stated that when he confronted the woman in the Honda, she struck his bumper.
