No one was hurt Tuesday morning in a house fire on Sewanee Drive.
According to a press release by the East Ridge Fire Department, firefighters were called to 1314 Sewanee Drive just after 6 a.m. on a reported fire. Upon arrival smoke was reported coming from the house. Everyone inside had safely left the dwelling.
Fire Chief Mike Williams said in the press release that firefighters located a small fire under the house in the heat unit. They quickly put the fire out and began salvage and overhaul operations.
Chief Williams said the estimated damage to the house was about $10,000.
