The Hamilton County Health Department reported 286 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, Sept. 17, bringing the total number of people who have contracted the virus since the beginning of the pandemic to 59,841.
Three more people died from COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of people to have succumbed to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic to 597.
There were 329 people being treated for COVID in area hospitals, down from 359 on the previous day. ICU patients dropped from 91 to 82.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,509 people were afflicted in East Ridge. There are currently 165 active cases in the city as of Sept. 16.
