The following information was compiled from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.
May 11 Day Shift
4152 Ringgold Road (Bojangles)- Wellbeing Check-
The caller advised of a white male stumbling across the street and almost getting hit by a car. Upon arrival police encountered Sean Griffith. He was found to have warrants through Red Bank for meth charges. He was transported to 601.
5707 Ringgold Road (Dollar General)- Shoplifting-
The store manager said a W/F, mid 20s and long black hair, entered the store around 0900 hours. The woman, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans, walked around the store gathering a variety of small items into a yellow store basket for about 15-20 minutes. Store employees watched the woman as she came toward the front counter and then bolted out the door with the items and the basket. The suspect then jumped into the passenger side of a Chevy Avalanche pickup truck, driven by a white male and sped off going west. The truck was light blue and covered in rust spots (GA tag RUL6777). It’s registered to a man who lives at a Haggard Road address in Ringgold GA. Total value of the items is under $100, however, management wishes to prosecute once the woman is located. The store has video footage of the incident on file.
3400 Lisa Drive (Seminole Ridge #18)- Vehicle Burglary-
On scene police met with the reporting party. He advised an unknown suspect entered his 2001 Honda Civic during the overnight hours after busting the passenger side window. The victim stated that two Hitachi brand nail guns and a Makita reciprocating saw were taken from the vehicle with a total value of $700.
1509 Mack Smith Road- Burglary/Squatters-
Police spoke with the complainant who stated this home was used as a dental lab by his father. His father died in January and no one has been using the business since his death. The complainant came to the location on this date and stated he found evidence of someone living in the house. The back door had been forced open. There were blankets over doorways and towels stapled over the windows. The complainant also stated a 50-inch television was missing from the residence. There are no suspects.
6008 Ringgold Road (Party Mart)- Disorder-
The caller advised he child’s father was refusing to allow her to retrieve property from his vehicle. Upon arrival police stood by while the caller removed her property.
761 Lanoir Street- Disorder Prevention-
The caller advised of a delayed disorder between his two tenants. He advised dispatch he needed police assistance while speaking to Sean Griffith. Officers spoke to the caller and advised him Griffith has been arrested earlier in the shift and was not at the residence.
3504 Missionaire Ave- Theft-
Upon arrival police spoke with the complainant. She advised the tag on her 1994 Red F-150 (TN 024 XYY) had been taken from the vehicle. The complainant stated the vehicle had been disabled/parked in her front yard for over a year, and when she went out to try and repair the vehicle, she noticed the tag had been removed. Unknown exact time frame on when the tag was taken. The tag was entered in NCIC.
5310 Oakdale Avenue- Suspicious Activity-
The caller reported his new neighbor took a picture of his young daughter. Upon arrival police spoke to the neighbor. He advised he took the picture to prove to the parents and police the child had locked herself inside a vehicle. He was advised to call police if the child was to do this again. The caller was advised people can take pictures of anything in public view.
100 Dorroh Lane – Disorder-
Police arrived and contacted a woman and Curtis Daniel who were in an active verbal disorder. Both parties were highly agitated with each other over circumstances involving Daniel moving out of the apartment. The disorder was verbal in nature with no physical contact between the parties. Daniel was found to have an active warrant through Hamilton County for contempt of court. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
1417 Saint Thomas Street (Motel 6)- Suspicious Activity-
While on patrol officers had a consensual encounter with a suspicious driver of a white Kia parked in the parking lot of the motel. The driver was identified as Angela Miller. Miller gave officers consent to search her vehicle and they located a Smith and Wesson .22 caliber handgun (serial number TCZ7383) located under the front passenger seat. Inside a purse Miller was holding, officers located a clear bag containing approximately one gram of a white substance believed to be methamphetamine and another clear bag containing residue of a white substance. Miller was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
4401 Ringgold Road (Macks Highway Market)- Suspicious Activity/Forgery-
Upon arrival police spoke to Robert H. He advised on 5/6/20 his backpack containing his business checks were stolen from his hotel in Chattanooga (CPD CASE#20-044068). He stated today around 1130 hours, he received a phone call from the market stating someone was trying to cash one of the stolen checks. Robert stated he advised the clerk the checks were stolen, and he would be on his way to the store. Police then spoke to the store clerk and she provided the stolen/forged check along with a copy of the suspects Tennessee ID and a profile picture taken of him during the check cashing process. The documentation identifies the suspect as Dakota Green. A check of the ID confirms Green used a real identification card to commit the crime. Warrants are being sought against Green for forgery.
