UPDATE: Authorities have identified the victim of Friday’s accident at a construction site as 22-year-old Michael Warren.
East Ridge and Chattanooga firefighters rescued a man Friday afternoon who had fallen into a hole at a construction site, officials said.
Fire Chief Mike Williams released the following information on the City of East Ridge Fire and Rescue Facebook page.
East Ridge Fire Rescue, East Ridge Police and Lifeguard EMS were dispatched to 3 Frawley Rd on a victim that had fallen approximately 40 feet into a hole at a construction site just before 2 p.m.
An immediate request was made for Chattanooga Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue team to assist with manpower and equipment for this type of rescue. East Ridge Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and made contact with the patient. Our crew started giving medical attention to the injured victim.
Chattanooga Fire arrived on the scene and set up ropes and other specialized equipment to remove the patient from the confined space. Crews worked together and removed the victim. Life Force Air Medical was called and the patient was transported to Erlanger Hospital.
The patient’s condition is unknown at this time. The patient’s name will not be released until the family has been notified.

According to our friends at NewsChannel 9, the victim was a 22-year-old worker at Adman Electric, a subcontractor doing work for RTD Construction Company. The project site is a pump station being built by the City of Chattanooga.
