Day Shift February 13
25-001602 – 3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Vehicle – Officers received notification of a Nissan Altima sitting at the pharmacy for an extended period of time. A traffic stop was conducted due to expired registration, and the vehicle occupants were identified. A consensual search found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle but no narcotics. No charges were filed.
25-001604 – 5400 BLK Oakdale Avenue – Suspicious Person – The caller reported a squatter in his basement. The “squatter” was identified as the reporting party’s friend whom he invited to stay with him. The friend advised she will leave by the end of the day, and the homeowner was informed on the eviction process.
25-001608 – 5300 BLK Bennett Road – Aggravated Domestic Assault – A party contacted the police after her boyfriend strangled her. She had visible red marks around her neck, corroborating her allegation. The suspect was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
25-001597 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – Police spoke with the manager of the hotel who stated he had an individual removed from the premises. Police informed the guest that management would give him until the end of the day to remove his items from the room.
25-001606 – 1500 BLK Mack Smith Road – Disorder – According to the reporting party, the suspect had made racial slurs at him and said she would kill him. He also states she had brandished a weapon when she confronted him. Police spoke with the neighbor who stated he had seen the altercation and stated he never saw a brandished weapon. Further investigation is required before taking out warrants.
Night Shift February 13
Road Closures due to Flooding and Water Damage: – 400 Camp Jordan Parkway (Camp Jordan entrance closed); – 1200 S Seminole Drive (one lane closed for approximately 20 feet)
25-001625 – 4400 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person / Officer Safety – Police observed a male tampering with trash cans on Ringgold Road. Police approached him and determined he had two artificial firearms in his possession: a black SBR BB Rifle and a black Glock style BB pistol. The man made no threatening gestures or motions toward police during the consensual encounter. Police informed him of applicable City Ordinances and sent him on his way. Police then observed the man riding his bicycle while holding the BB Rifle on his handlebars. The situation may result in future calls for an armed subject in the city.
25-001612 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd – Fatal MVC – Police responded to a crash with Injuries behind the business. On scene, police found a blue sedan that had crashed into a chain link fence on a dirt embankment. Hamilton County EMS arrived on scene and initiated CPR for the driver. The driver was then transported where he was pronounced deceased. The medical staff determined the driver had a medical emergency which may have caused the accident. The driver’s next of kin was notified.
25-001621 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Domestic Assault – Police responded to a fight at the hospital. Officers determined that a man and his had a physical altercation in the front lobby. Police also found that the woman had left prior to their arrival. The man stated she had just given birth to twins but did not want to stay in the hospital. He stated he was arguing with her when she pushed him and left in a truck with an unknown driver. An arrest warrant will be sought once video footage has been secured from the hospital security system.
25-001628 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Disorder – Police responded to a disorder at the hospital and located the same man from above in the front lobby arguing with hospital staff members. Police found that his wife had not returned to the hospital, and he had no legitimate reason to remain at the location. The hospital staff requested for him to leave the hospital, and he complied with the request.
25-001614 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Shoplifting – Loss Prevention reported a male and female stole $395.65 of merchandise, then left the area in a gold sport utility vehicle. The suspects have not been identified but the business will provide police with the video and pictures of the incident.
25-001613 – 4200 BLK Spriggs Street – Well Being Check – Concerned neighbors reported they had not seen the resident in four. After a short investigation, the East Ridge Fire Department assisted police with forced entry into the home. In the living room, police located the man who was suffering from a medical emergency. The subject was transport for treatment.
25-001622 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Narcotics Violation / Arrest – Police observed an unoccupied Chrysler 200 sedan idling in the parking lot of the motel. The officer looked at the vehicle and observed a bag of suspected Marijuana wedged in the door handle. Police located the owner of the and found he had 2.3 ounces of suspected marijuana in his possession. The party was taken into custody and transported to the jail without incident.
25-001627 – 6400 BLK Ringgold Road – Citizen Encounter – Police conducted a consensual encounter with a man while he was exhibiting suspicious behavior in the parking lot. During the encounter, he became disorderly and verbally aggressive towards police. The officer attempted to de-escalate the situation, and the man was calmed by a friend at the scene. The party left with the friend and did not return to the restaurant.
