Day Shift April 4
25-003526 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Back up Fire/Trespass – Police were informed of a possible fire under the bridge. Police and Fire arrived on scene and went under the bridge to find a woman cooking food. She was told she was not allowed to have an open fire under a structure. She informed police and fire that she owned the city, and she was able to have a fire. Despite her claimed ownership, she was trespassed from the property and informed that she needed to vacate the premises.
25-003528 – 2000 BLK McBrien Road – Deceptive Practice – A woman reported the bank would not allow her to withdraw money from her account. Upon further investigation, it was found that she had been trespassed, and her account was closed. The reporting party was provided with an explanation and sent on her way.
Night Shift April 4
25-003555 – Spring Creek Road/Hurst Street – Suspicious Vehicle/Arrest – Police responded to the area of Bermuda Avenue on report of a Red Ford Ranger driving slowly through the area. Officers located the vehicle at the intersection of Spring Creek Road and Hurst Street and contacted the driver. She displayed indicators consistent with being under the influence of narcotics. Following Field Sobriety Testing, Officers attempted to place the woman into custody for DUI – Drugs. She began to resist Officers and attempted to consume a small bag of Methamphetamine, which was ultimately recovered. The suspect was medically cleared for narcotics ingestion and transported to the Hamilton County Detention Center without further incident. She was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Resisting Arrest, DUI – Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with Evidence.
Day Shift April 5: A Team
25-003563 – 100 BLK Kingwood Drive – Open Window/Door – Burglary – Police responded to a house after a neighbor reported a broken window and an open door on the rear of the residence. The keen neighbor told police he was outside most of the day and noticed construction workers milling about the adjacent house prior to him noticing that the rear of the house was disturbed. Police observed open drawers on dressers. The resident told police he did not notice any belongings missing from the residence.
Night Shift April 5
Police responded to multiple weather-related calls such as business alarms, wires down, and road flooding. Tombras Avenue/Ringgold Road and McBrien Road/Ringgold Road intersections have no power and traffic signals are not functioning. The street department had been notified. Currently, 6500 Slater Road is the only closure.
25-003579 – 800 BLK Summit Avenue – Burglary in Progress – Police responded to this location after the homeowner observed a male subject forcing entry into the home via home security camera. Officers found the front door of the residence had been forced open and cleared the structure. No suspect was found on scene, but signs of tampering were located in the residence. The suspect observed on camera was a 50-60 year old male with a beard, wearing a blue shirt, black pants and black tennis shoes with a white towel draped over his head. The unknown suspect was last seen walking south on Summit Ave. On-Call CID was notified and responded to process the scene. The investigation was turned over to CID.
25-003586 – 3600 BLK Phelps Street – Auto Theft/Warrant Service – The victim stated her Toyota Rav 4 was stolen at an unknown time on an unknown date. She stated there was only one set of keys which police observed her holding. Neighbors, however, stated the reporting party walked home a short time before police arrival. Officers observed her to be heavily intoxicated with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the Toyota Rav 4. She was taken into custody for a warrant out of Red Bank and transported to Hamilton County Jail.
25-003574 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – AOA – ERPD assisted CPD in detaining and investigating an aggravated assault suspect after CPD made a traffic stop on the party at this location. CPD conducted an investigation.
25-003589 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man was served at the Hamilton County Jail on an outstanding East Ridge warrant for theft under $1,000.
25-003585 – 5700 Ringgold Road – Suspicious activity – A party reported a male standing on the side of the road “doing karate in the air.” Police contacted the man who advised he was trying to keep mosquitoes away from him. He was checked for warrants and sent on his way.
25-003593 – 183.0 I-24 West – AOA – East Ridge Police Department received a BOLO from Chattanooga Police Department in reference to a rolling disorder on Interstate 24 West involving a possible firearm. ERPD located the suspect vehicle within East Ridge jurisdiction and a traffic stop was conducted. CPD made contact with the reporting party. No firearm was located, and it was determined no crime occurred. All parties involved were sent on their way.
25-003578 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd – DUI Arrest – Police conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Testing on a subject following a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office traffic stop. Police determined the subject to be intoxicated, and he was arrested for DUI, Reckless Endangerment x5, and traffic charges.
25-003591 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Rd – DUI Arrest – Police encountered a vehicle stopped in the middle of Ringgold Rd and John Ross Rd and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
25-003587 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Citizen Assist/Warrant Service – Police were called to this address after a man attempted to locate his mother who was residing here. While speaking with the man, officers were notified that he had several warrants for his arrest. Police transported him to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.
25-003597 – 4500 BLK Pontiac Circle – Collapsed Structure – Units responded to a residence where a tree had fallen and come through the roof, striking a resident. Officers spoke with the residents who advised they were fine and denied needing EMS. ERFD determined the residence was habitable.
25-003596 – 3428 Shadowlawn Drive – Collapsed Structure – Units responded to a residence where a tree had fallen, causing the structure to collapse. Police were able to evacuate the residents as the walls were beginning to collapse inward. None of the residents were seriously injured and had a location to stay for the rest of the night.
Day Shift April 6
25-003610 – 2100 BLK Dugan Street – Disorder – A woman called police after her ex-boyfriend refused to pay her. She was informed that this was a civil matter and trespassed from his property.
Night Shift April 6
25-003619 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man was taken into custody on an outstanding East Ridge Alias Capias with an original charge of driving on revoked when he turned himself in at the Police Department. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
25-003627 – 900 BLK Stateline Road– AOA/Arrest – Police located a previously BOLO’d suspect vehicle belonging to a party confirmed to have Aggravated Burglary, Domestic Assault, and Vandalism warrants at his registered address. Following a brief investigation, Officers observed the suspect attempting to flee through a rear facing window of the residence. The suspect, upon contact with perimeter officers, retreated into the window where he surrendered himself to officers in the residence. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A small amount of Marijuana and Psilocybin Mushroom was observed in plain view in the room. Consent to search was obtained but yielded no further contraband. The suspected narcotics were collected and placed in Property and Evidence for destruction. The party was transported to the Hamilton County Detention Center without further incident.
25-003626 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Road – Residential Fire – Police responded to this address after a neighbor observed a small fire in the garage. Officers were able to quickly extinguish the fire using department issued fire extinguishers. ERFD responded to the scene to investigate. It was later determined that a lit candle was left unattended and the fire started.
25-003620 – 600 BLK Bermuda Ave – Traffic Stop/Arrest – Following a traffic stop for an equipment violation, a man was arrested for Driving on Revoked for DUI.
25-003621 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Traffic Stop/Arrest – Police observed a black Nissan Maxima with suspended registration and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was determined to be driving with a revoked license and had a valid administrative warrant of deportation through the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail, charged with Driving on Revoked for DUI, and a hold was placed for the warrant.
Day Shift April 7
25-003631-700 BLK Germantown Circle -Arrest – Police responded to the apartments for a party who had possibly ingested narcotics to hurt himself. Police found the man outside the apartment in his vehicle, visibly under the influence and with open containers inside the car. He was found to be in a domestic disorder with his girlfriend. Upon further investigation, no primary aggressor in the disorder could be determined. Due to his intoxicated state and refusal of medical treatment, he was cleared on scene by Hamilton County EMS and placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.
25-003641 – 1300 BLK Greens Lake Rd – Theft – The resident stated that sometime between Saturday and today someone jumped his fence and stole the tires from his trailer. He doesn’t know who could’ve done it. Charges pending upon the identification of suspect.
25-003643 – 5300 BLK Dupont St – Theft – The caller stated that sometime last night someone had taken his backpack leaf blower and his weed eater off his trailer he uses for work. He does not know who could’ve done it. Charges pending upon the identification of suspect.
25-003644 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd – Follow Up – Officers responded to the area beneath the bridge regarding a report of a homeless individual previously instructed to vacate the area under a proximity restriction. It was unclear if she had ever left. Due to hazardous terrain, the East Ridge Fire Department assisted in removing her from the area. During the interaction, she appeared disoriented and was unable to answer basic cognitive questions. She was transported for medical evaluation. The party was warned not to return to the location and acknowledged the directive.
Night Shift April 7
25-003661-Traffic Stop/Drug Arrest – Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it run a red light. After a probable cause search was conducted, a man was taken into custody after police found 29.96 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
25-003664 – 4400 BLK Ringgold Road – Attempted Burglary – An unidentified masked male attempted to burglarize the smoke shop by hitting the glass door with a hammer several times. The masked suspect fled on foot when the alarm sounded, and he was unable to enter the store. Surveillance footage was obtained from the store owner for the ongoing investigation.
