Lady Pioneers in District Finals

The East Ridge girls’ soccer team downed Central 4-0, Tuesday evening in the District 6 A/AA Tournament semifinals at Camp Jordan.

The Lady Pioneers will now face Hixson for the district title. That game is slated for 7 p.m. at Camp Jordan Park.

Kayla Deck led the way for East Ridge (9-0-3) with two goals. Serena Smith and Abby Sweatman added a goal and an assist each for the Pioneers, who outshot Central 12-2.

Goalkeeper Morgan Montieth recorded another shutout, while coach Jeremy McIntyre singled out Emily Spiers, Sarah Hudgens, Katie Schaffer and Makayla Mochkau for their defensive play.

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
