A kitchen fire in a house on Marlboro Avenue was quickly extinguished by the East Ridge Fire Department, early Tuesday evening.
According to Fire Chief Mike Williams, firefighters responded to 1310 Marlboro Ave. just after 6 p.m. on a reported house fire. Upon arrival light smoke was found coming from the structure. Crews quickly located and extinguished the fire which was in the kitchen.
Chief Williams said the fire appears to be accidental and no injuries were reported.
“Great job to Red Shift and all that were involved,” Williams said.
