The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along” reports provided by the administration.
July 1 Day Shift
3326 Ringgold Road (Mr. Zip)- Suspicious Vehicle/DOA-
The reporting party advised of a maroon van parked at pump 3 when she arrived to work around 0430. The RP called police around 0621 when the vehicle still had not moved from the pump. Upon arrival police observed the van parked at pump 3 and ran the Tennessee registration: 2L19U8, however the registration came back to a 2007 silver Ford Explorer. Police then walked up to the driver side door and observed a white male slumped over in the driver seat with his head resting on the edge of the front passenger seat. Police then walked to the front passenger door and opened the door and observed the white male was blue in the face and cold to the touch. No pulse was found, and it appeared that rigor mortis had already set in. Police also observed lividity on the deceased’s face where it was resting on the front passenger seat. CID was notified and responded along with the medical examiner. The RP allowed police to observe the security footage. On 6/30/20 at 1520 hours the maroon 1997 Dodge van pulls up to pump 3 in an eastbound direction then backs up to the pump. At 1523 hours the driver is seen running inside of the store due to the rain. At 1529 hours the driver walked back to the van, where it sat until police encountered it on today’s date. While police were on scene Hamilton County EMS arrived and took possession of the body to transport to the medical examiner’s office. Currently the cause of death is unknown.

Bonnie Hargis was served an East Ridge warrant at 601.
1408 Mana Lane (Veranda at the Ridge)- Burglary-
Sometime during the night an unknown suspect busted the glass door and entered the business office. It is currently unknown what was taken. CID responded to the scene for evidence collection.
4150 Ringgold Road (Walmart)- Theft Delayed-
The caller advised of two suspects changing barcodes on items then scanning through self-checkout. Per loss prevention this had occurred several times over the last few weeks. Warrants are pending.
1500 South Smith Street- Suspicious Vehicle-
The caller, a postal employee, advised she felt she was being followed by a white female in a cream-colored sedan. Upon arrival police checked the area with nothing located. Later in the shift we received a second call regarding the cream-colored vehicle. This time it was observed in the Maxwell Road area close to the post office. Upon arrival in the area the vehicle was gone.
McHann Drive @ Indian Trail- Suspicious Person-
The caller advised of two men driving a blue car going door to door in the neighborhood. Upon arrival contact was made with one of the men. He advised he was going door to door offering estimates for roof work. He was advised to obtain a permit from city hall for door to door sales.
915 South Seminole Drive (Ridge Terrace)- Suspicious Vehicles/Stolen Vehicle Recovery-
The caller advised of a white Ford F-150 and white Hyundai parked in the lot for several weeks. Upon arrival the F-150 was found to be stolen out of Chattanooga but the owner couldn’t be reached. It was removed from NCIC and towed by Broomes.
1520 Waterhouse Street- Delayed Assault-
The resident called to advise Charles Bettis assaulted her on 6-16-20. Upon arrival police spoke to the resident. She was able to show evidence of her assault. Warrants are being sought.

Night Shift
3100 Ringgold Road / Suspicious Activity:
Police dispatched for white male swinging an umbrella at cars. Police made contact with Mr. Carnes and spoke with him. He was checked for warrants and sent on his way.
3623 Fountain Avenue / Suspicious Activity:
Police were called for two black males looking into cars at the SweetBay Apartments. Police spoke with Samuel B. and a juvenile male who were on scene due to them matching the descriptions of the suspects. Warrants were run with negative results. Report on file.
3231 Castle Avenue / Disorder-Domestic:
Police were dispatched for a disorder. Two females living at the same address argued over one not working. Both parties locked themselves out the house. Police stood by while one gathered belongings and left the scene.
1500 Prater Road / Warrant Service:
Shawn Clark was arrested on a Hamilton County warrant following a consensual encounter at this location.
6710 Ringgold Road Rm 227 / Drug search warrant:
Sean Griffith was arrested on possession of meth, possession of heroin for resale and possession of Xanax for resale at this location following a search warrant after an anonymous tip. Jenifer Pethick was issued a misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia
