Crestwood Garden Club will formally dedicate the Jo Lawrence Memorial Garden on Wednesday.
The ceremony is slated for 2 p.m. at the garden inside Camp Jordan Park.
Jo Lawrence was a devoted Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. member serving as Crestwood Garden Club President for eight years, held district and state organization chairmen positions and was a Master Gardener. Her last state chairmanship was the TFGC Blue Star Memorial Marker Chairman.
Jo passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2014. Since 2007, Camp Jordan Park was one of her favorite garden club projects to plant trees and flowers. Jo’s favorite color was pink so the trees and many of the shrubs in the garden will be blooming in pink. A memorial garden for Jo became a joint partnership project between Crestwood Garden Club, the Master Gardeners and the East Ridge Parks & Recreation Department.
In Jo’s memory, Crestwood Garden Club members, the Hamilton County Master Gardeners and East Ridge Parks & Recreation Department will work together to add to the garden and create an ongoing maintenance schedule. This partnership between Crestwood, the Master Gardeners and the East Ridge P&R will complete a dream that many want to say “Thank You” to Jo Lawrence for all the projects she created to beautify East Ridge.
Memorial donations in Jo Lawrence’s memory may be made payable to Crestwood Garden Club and mailed to:
Dianna Mansfield, Crestwood Treasurer
6915 Wake Robin Rd
East Ridge TN 37412-4157
Donations will support future plantings and maintenance of this garden.
