Day Shift January 4, 2023
22-000164 – 1000 BLK Tunnel Blvd – Assist Chattanooga Police – An East Ridge officer returning from his daily Ridgeside Patrol assisted CPD with perimeter support on a barricaded subject armed with a rifle. The officer stayed on perimeter until relieved by CPD SWAT.
23-000142 – 3725 Fountain Ave – Evading – A Hamilton County civil service deputy came upon a suspicious black pickup truck in the parking lot of Summit Apartments. Upon making contact the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The deputy gave chase and after running the tag, dispatch advised it was the suspect vehicle in a recent shooting in Chattanooga and was possibly stolen. East Ridge police fell in behind the lone county vehicle in Brainerd. The suspect vehicle was followed down back roads before the pursuit was finally terminated. The vehicle’s whereabouts and the suspect’s identity are unknown at this time.
23-000143 – 1400 BLK Mack Smith Rd – Possible Narcotics Violation – Police were dispatched regarding a resident who was acting erratically. The resident was highly agitated for no apparent reason and could not remain still, giving reason to believe he was under the influence of narcotics. Police found one and a half pressed pills in the room for which the resident could not give an explanation. He was transported to a medical facility via EMS for treatment. The pills will be sent to TBI for testing.
23-000150 – 1600 BLK Prater Rd – Suspicious Activity – Neighbors reported an unknown male party was looking in cars and mailboxes along the street. He was last seen walking south on Prater Road into Georgia. Police checked the area but did not locate him. Party was middle-aged or older, about 6’1” tall, wearing a gray jacket and black toboggan hat.
23-000158 – 7609 Standifer Gap Rd – Warrant Service – Mitchell Smith was booked on an East Ridge arrest warrant for Probation Capias while at Hamilton County Jail.
23-000144- 3636 Ringgold RD. – Burglary – Yolanda Winston was arrested at this location for theft, criminal impersonation and burglary after entering the store and stealing numerous items. She had been previously banned from all Food City stores.
23-000146 – 3725 Fountain Ave – Burglary of an Auto – The complainant reported an unknown suspect entered his secured Ford sometime between 0400 and 1100 hrs on this date and removed a wallet and some clothing. It was later learned that suspect vehicle that fled from police earlier at this location was observed in the area of the victim’s vehicle.
23-000148 – 2100 Dodson Ave – Warrant Service – The Chattanooga Police Department made contact with Shareef Smith at this location during a traffic stop. Smith was found to have a valid alias capias warrant. ERPD responded to CPD’s location, took Smith into and transported him to the Hamilton County Jail.
23-000156 – 4100 block Ringgold Rd– Police responded to this location after a neighbor reported a small child told them they were home alone with their younger sibling. On arrival, police located the children and verified they were unsupervised. While on scene, the mother of the children arrived and advised she went to the doctor’s office for a short time. The children were released to the custody of their mother and the Department of Children’s Services was contacted and a report filed.
Night Shift January 4-5, 2023
23-000180 – 1000 BLK Lansdell Road – Vandalism – Police responded to this location in reference to a continued neighbor dispute. On this date one resident removed the mailbox from the yard of another and threw it into the yard due to frustration with neighbors. Reporting party declined prosecution and requested a report for record. Report on file.
23-000172 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – Police served an arrest warrant on Williford, Brandon for probation capias while he was already incarcerated at the jail.
23-000198 – 3326 Ringgold Rd – Fire – While preforming routine patrols in the area. Police observed dense smoke coming from between the Mr. Zips and the car wash, in the wood line. Police located a subject with a make-shift camp and campfire. He extinguished the fire.
23-000199 – 6708 Ringgold Road – Arrest – Following a traffic stop at this location, Donny Williams was taken into custody for felony possession of meth for resale (40.5 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting stop, halt, frisk, and intent to go armed. Jordan Brock was taken into custody for simple possession of two grams of meth.
23-000184 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant – William Henry was arrested and booked at the Hamilton County Jail on an East Ridge warrant.
